    What is the procedure to become a Chartered Accountant?

    i want to learn chartered accountant but i have passed my 10 2 but i have not taken any cpt or any other exams after mine 10 pass know i am persuing my B.Com but know i dont know what is the proceedure for CA if i can take now it seems how can i what is the proceedure can i know please

    dear the procedure to opt ca is as follow:-

    at first you have to give cpt exam which can be given after +2 only.
    we can also opt for b.com by side as syllabus of b.com 1st year and cpt is same.
    to clear cpt is important.

    and after cpt there are two exams more which tou have to gave .
    all the exams are conducted twice a year .
    in november and may.

    you have to also take training under a ca for three years.

    The procedure to become a chartered Accountant

    After completing 12th you have to registered for CPT exam this is entrance exam for CA
    CPT stands for: Common Proficiency Test
    after your registration you will get the study material for CPT exam
    once you complete or clear the CPT exam the next is IPCC

    The next step is IPCC
    IPCC stands for: Integrated Proficiency Competancy Course
    here have two groups like Group-I & Group-II

    The last step is Final CA exam
    here also two groups are there
    if you want you can attempt one by one groups or both in IPCC and Final

    It is the one of tough course so you have to study hard & well and go for coaching classes

    Chartered Accountancy is a professional course in accounting for those candidates who want to make their career in accounting field.

    The Chartered Accountancy Course is conducted by a ICAI - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India who will conduct exams as well as they will provide you the license of chartered accountant.

    The courses introduced in it are a blend of theory and practical training which equips a candidate with adequate knowledge, ability, skills and other qualities required for the chartered accountant.

    This course are divided into three levels that will be comprising of:
    Common Proficiency Test (CPT),
    Integrated Professional Competence Course and
    Final Course.

    A student will be deemed to eligible if they follow the step by step process for pursuing the three level courses of CA such as:

    - A applicant after passing his intermediate Examination can get enrolled for the CPT of the CA programme. A student who has passed his matriculation can also register with CPT but can write the exam only after completing his intermediate or waiting for the results. There is no restriction relating to the age of the candidate or marks secured in HSC.

    - After completing your graduation you can directly register for IPCC but the percentage requirement in graduation depends upon the subject you have pursued in your gradaution like:
    • Commerce -50% marks,
    • Non commerce subjects with subjects other than mathematics- 55% marks
    • Non commerce subjects with mathematics - 60% marks.
    - Applicants after passing the final examination conducted by ICWAI or ICSI register directly for Professional Competency Course.

    - Applicants after passing Integrated Professional Competence Course, the candidates can register as Articled clerks for practical training of 100 hours which is mandatory for every candidate pursuing the course. And also take the admission to the Final course.

    - Minimum age for being eligible to apply for articles clerk/audit clerks in Chartered Accountancy is 18 years.

    Chartered Accountant is professional course conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants In India.

    CA can be done after 12th , any stream students can do this course .

    Graduates can also apply for The Same.

    Steps how to do CA :

    Ca consists 3 stages:

    CPT / Foundation course.

    IPCC/ Intermediate course

    Final / Article ship training

    Candidates first register in CPT exam ( Common Proficiency Test)
    , this exam is compulsory to all , after qualifying this stage you will proceed forward for IpcC:

    Second steps to register in IPCC ( Integrated Professional Competence Course ) ,this is intermediate course.

    Graduates can directly register in IPCC If they have following elligibity:

    For Commerce : 55% marks must.

    For Non Commerce Candidates :
    60 % must.

    They not need to give CPT.

    After completing IPCC , Final exam is held of 9 months, and together you must have to complete Artificalship Training .

    ICAI conducts CA course.It is professional course ,and you can opt for this course after 12th and graduation .

    Chartered Accountant is long coursr, consists three stages:

    FoundationCourses / CPT

    Intermediate course / IPCC

    Final exam / Artificalship Training

    Candidate first register in CPT ( Common Proficiency Test) ,you can give this exam after 12th only.

    Second stage is IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course) ,candidate can appear in this exam only when you qualify CPT.

    Candidates can directly enter in IPCC when you have following elligibity:

    For Commerce graduate: 55% marks must in graduation .

    For Non Commerce Graduate: 60% must in gradaution an any stream .
    Means they no need to give the CPT exam.

    After qualifying IPCC candidate will enter in Final exams , There is 3 years of Artificalship Training ,this training is necessary for All CA candidates.

    Chartered Accountancy Course is India is offered by the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in India. Anyone who wants to become CA has to clar the course by ICAI.

    The first step of the course is Common Proficiency Test (CPT). This exam has to be cleared to take admission for the second stage. Anyone who has completed 10th can register for the Common Proficiency Test.

    However he can only appear for the test once he has completed 12th standard. The graduates are given exemption from appearing if they meet the certain criteria.

    The commerce graduates should have 55 percent marks in the course.

    Non commerce graduates should have 60 percent marks.

    Otherwise it is important to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. There are two sections in the exam.

    1. Fundamentals of Accounting and Mercantile Laws.

    2. Economics and Quantitative Aptitude.

    You will have to score 30 percent in both the sections to clear this entrance exam. After which you can apply for the IPCC.

    Integrated Professional Competancy Course (IPCC)

    The Integrated Professional Competancy Course is the second stage of the Chartered Accountancy course. There are total of 7 subjects in it that are divided into 2 groups.

    The examination can only be taken once you have complete Common Proficiency Test and 9 months of IPCC study.

    Group 1

    1. Accounting

    2. Business Laws,Ethics and Communication

    3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management

    4. Taxation

    Group 2

    5. Advanced Accounting

    6. Auditing and Assurance

    7. Information Technology and Strategic Management


    Once you have completed the Group 1 of the IPCC, you become eligible for the 3 years of mandatory Articleship.

    Final Course

    Once you have completed both groups of the IPCC and only 6 months are left for the Articleship, you can appear for the Final exam.

    Step 1. Taking up the foundation course for chartered accountancy: Students have to get registered for the foundation course at the Indian Chartered Accountants Institute before embarking on their studies to become a chartered accountant. This foundation course is usually of a one-year duration, and the course material is provide to the student, who then has to study it in preparation for an examination at the end of the one-year period.

    Step 2. Completing the foundation course and preparing for the intermediate examination: After clearing the foundation exam for chartered accountancy, students then have to start their practical training. They have to complete 18 months of practical training with a chartered accountant before sitting for the intermediate examination. The students are tested on two groups of three papers each during this examination.

    Step 3. Qualifying in the intermediate examination and appearing for the final examination: Students can start studying for the final exam only after dealing the intermediate examination. They then have to undergo two more years of practical training before they can sit for the final examination, in which the students are tested on two groups of four papers each.

    Step 4. Enroll as a member of the ICAI and choose to either join employment or set up own practice: After successful completion of the final exam, the aspiring CA can apply for membership of the ICAI. All members are deemed associate members of the institute. Associate members who have been in practice for a minimum of five years and possess the experience prescribed by the council for this purpose are entitled to apply for Fellowship.

    ** Pass CPT examination

    ** Register/Enroll for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC)

    ** Complete 9 months of Study Course.

    ** Complete 100 hours of Information Technology Training (ITT).

    ** Complete Orientation Course (35 hours spread over one week).

    ** Pass Group I or both Groups of Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE).

    ** Register as Articled Assistant for a period of 3 years.

    ** Pass Group II of IPCC if not already passed.

    ** Appear in Final Examination during last 6 months of 3 years of articled training.

    ** Pass both the Groups of Final examination.

    ** Get Final Examination Certificate.

    ** Complete remaining period of articled training, if applicable

    ** Complete Course on General Management and Communication Skill

    ** ll as a member of ICAI and designate as "Chartered Accountant"
