    Download Indian Forest Service Botany Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    Indian Forest Service is a prestigious service. Many candidates every year appear in the Indian Forest Service Examination with a hope of making it to the Indian Forest Service. This exam is conducted by the UPSC.

    Pattern of exam:

    Six papers constitute the IFS examination. Botany is an optional paper which is chosen by many candidates appearing in this exam. Botany has two papers namely Botany Paper I and Botany Paper II.

    Syllabus of Botany paper in Indian Forest Service Examination:

    Paper I of Botany encompasses the following chapters:-

    Microbiology and Plant Pathology
    Plant Resource Development

    Paper II focuses on the following concepts of Botany:-

    Cell Biology
    Genetics, Molecular Biology and Evolution
    Plant Breeding, Biotechnology and Biostatistics
    Physiology and Biochemistry
    Ecology and Plant Geography

    Duration of Botany paper in Indian Forest Service Exam:

    Papers of Botany are of two hours in duration. The total marks are 300 in each of the papers of Botany. Answers should be written descriptively in the answer sheet provided by UPSC.

    Scoring pattern:

    Candidates are assigned scores based on the correctness, quality and information content of their answers. Diagrams need to be drawn wherever asked. No scheme of negative marking is possible in these two papers.
