    Xavier Admission Test (XAT)

    XAT is an all India level Admission Test conducted to select the most appropriate students for post graduate management programmes. Since fifty years Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur is conducting this test across all the major cities across India. More than 60 Management Institutes in India are selecting students on the basis of the score obtained for XAT exam. XAT is usually conducted in the first week of January.

    Structure and Pattern of XAT
    XAT exam is conducted for the following courses
    • PG Diploma in Rural Management
    • PG Diploma in Information Management
    • PG Diploma in Personnel Management
    • MBA
    • PGDBA/PGDBM
    • PGBM

    Syllabus
    • Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability
    • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
    • General Knowledge

    Examination Pattern
    The pattern of the exam changes every year. Generally the pattern of the exam is as follows
    • Objective Type Questions divided into 3 parts, 40 minutes for each part.
    • Four options each.
    • 200 questions.
    • One- third of the mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Essay Writing on a given topic of around 200-300 words which is expected finish within 15-20 minutes.

    Coaching Institutions
    Various coaching institutions provide coaching classes for XAT exam. They are present in almost all of the major cities across the country. Various books and proper instructions are provided by those institutions.

    Qualification Criteria for XAT
    The candidate must have passed graduation or its equivalent under 10+2+3 from any recognized or deemed university. For one year General Management Programme, the candidate must possees Bachelorís degree and five years of managerial experience. Result awaiting candidates and those who are appearing for final year examination can also apply for XAT exam. At the time of admission the candidates must provide all the required documents as per the rules of the Examination board.

    Application Procedure for XAT
    Following are the major steps involved while applying for XAT exam
    • Filling online XAT Registration form
    • Receiving XAT ID and Password
    • Downloading the XAT pay-in-slip/ XAT PP Form

    Download XAT Pay-in-slip: from the specified branches of Axis Bank branch by paying in Rs.800/- along with the download pay-in-slip and fill in the detachable form present. The other option is to obtain XAT Bulletin by sending the application form along with a demand draft (DD) of Rs 850.00. to XAT Office, Jamshedpur
    • Dispatching the filled in detachable form along with the XLRIís copy of XAT pay-in-slip to XAT Office , XLRI Or dispatching XAT PP Form along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI in time.

    Hello sir, This is hari, applying for XAT 2012. I have processed till paying the fee in the axis bank. Now i have a bank seal attested slip with me n a unique transaction ID too, wat am i supposed to do now.     Hello expert, may i know the detailed procedure to apply for the xat 2012:). So far i ve now paid the fee in the axis bank n i have the slip with me, wat am i supposed to do now......
