    Hi firend !!!

The IAS stands for -- Indian Administrative Services .

India's best brains vie for entry into the Indian Civil Services as officers.
Even though corporate jobs may offer the best of salaries and perks, a majority of youngsters and their parents still crave entry to the prestigious Indian Civil Services held by the UPSC.

The Eligibility for appearing IAS Examination is :

Re: Will I be eligible to sit for IAS examination even after completing my academics with Commerce from 9th class on wards?

Yes off course you would be eligible to sit for IAS(Indian administrative services) examination(even you can apply for IPS, IRS, IES, etc as the exam is the conducted by the same body).
If you want to service your nation then you must appear for this exam.
There is no such problem even if you had opted of commerce from 9th standard onwards. There are many students from commerce as well as other fields who have succeeded to become a
IAS, IRS, etc.So, there is no such problem even if you had opted for commerce and you can appear for CSE(Civil services exams) as any candidate from any discipline can appear for the exam
as specified by the concerned authority.

This exam is conducted by UPSC(Union public service commission) all over India at some specified centres. As you have pursued your studies from commerce back ground, i would suggest you
to also opt for subjects related to commerce in the civil services examination. You can select any subject as per your preference and if you selected subjects that you have already studied,
the process would become much easier for you.

The procedure to become IAS or to appear for CSE can be mentioned as follows:
    1)Preliminary exam-
The first phase in the process is to appear for preliminary exam. This is an objective examination and you need to clear this exam before moving to the next level.
A lot of changes have recently taken place in the pattern of this exam and there fore you should try to be updated about each and every detail of the exam.

    2)Mains exam-
The second phase in the process to clear this exam is to appear for Mains examination. For this exam , you need to select subjects according to your preference.

    3)Interview-
The final phase which is the most crucial one is to pass through a round of personal interview. This personal interview can be given either in English or Hindi according to your
preference. This is the most important part of the whole interview process and you must prepare well for this phase as many students get out of after this phase.

    Dear friend,
You are not eligible for IAS exam right now. As you are studying in 12th class so you are not eligible for IAS.

For IAS you have to have a graduation degree min.

If you are graduate from any discipline then you can apply for IAS, your 10th,12th subjects does not matter. If you had studied commerce subjects after 9th then it does not matter at all for IAS.

Now let me tell you for IAS you have to appear for CSAT exam conducted by UPSC.For IAS you have to select two subjects which you like the most, among the subjects list specified by UPSC.
You have to prepare two subjects very deeply.other than that you have to prepare for general knowledge, aptitude, logical reasoning for Pre exam.

    Eligibility for CSAT:

1.You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age,33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs

2.Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

3.You should have a graduate degree from any college which is recognized by UGC, or possess an equivalent qualification.

4.If you are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form.

    best of lk.
