Its very pleasent to say yes. you can apply for gate. but now gate registration is over for 2013. so for GATE-2014 you are allowed and for that application notification will cone in the month of October.

graduate aptitude test in engineering is an all india examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian institute of science and seven Indian institutes of technology for masters degree courses of engineering in top engineering colleges in india .if you want to take ad mission into the masters programme of these top engineering colleges and IISC you need to appear for the gate exam.
in the GATE exam you have only one paper to attempt you have to write that paper in 3 hours of time, the paper consists of 65 questions and carries 100 marks. The questions are like objective type and you have to darken the circles.

Eligibility Criteria for GATE Exam---->>>>

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)

(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).

Yes you are eligible for applying gate as you have completed your MSc course. You should submit your pass certificate signed by your principal on the application form.
As you are preparing for gate you should know the type of questions you have to deal with.
There are various type of questions which will deal with the Principles and laws, basics or fundamentals of the stream you have chosen to study, your sense of application of your knowledge

yes you will be allowed to write the gate exam .because you have completed your graduation fronm a recognised university or from recognised college.so no need to worry.the quallification required for gate is degree from any university from any course from any branch you will have to get minimum of % in the graduation so that and the age limit is not mentioned. prefinal year students ,diploma students are not eligible to write the exam .if a candidate fails in the subject means a copy of marksheet of the final year should be there.letter to submit by concerned officers that principalalso should be present that the candidate has passed all the subjectsin the last portion of the pdf form
