Yes friend , there are some companies like BHEL in which they will consider the GATE marks as their 70% weight-age in the entrance Aptitude Test .
So once you have appeared GATE Examination , then it will be very helpful in many ways .

The Aptitude Tests which you will appear before attending an Interview will become much easier to you after appearing for GATE .
Once you appear GATE , then you will come to know that which type of Questions will be asking , how much you know and how much you need to learn , etc , .

There are companies like BHEL which asks GATE marks as an Eligibility Level .
Many of the govt sectors also consider the GATE marks .

So if you appear for this examination , apart from getting an admission into M'tech you have many more additional advantages .

And GATE stands for -- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering .

Gate rank is needed to study M.tech.M.tech is a two year course.It is the post graduation course which is the extension of b.tech.If you have good percentage in m.tech then IT companies will recruit you.Minimum 70% needed for top most mnc's.

Infosys recruits 68% cut off graduates.TCS recruits 60%cut off graduates.persistence needed graduates who are with minimum 70% .similarly any sort of company recruits minimum 60% aggregate.

M.tech graduates will be paid high compared with b.tech graduates.
For ex:
pay scale of graduates 3.25l per annum
pay scale of m.tech graduates is 3.50l per annum.

As far as I am concerned,GATE Score is valid only for IOCL followed by an interview else all the PSUs and government sector has its own exam conducted once in a year.GATE Score is valid for getting admission in various colleges for various masters degree and this can be helpful to get selected in many private college as a lecturer.
No any other company demands GATE Score for the recruitment.But yes,that can be your additional positive point ,If you reaches in any interview after cracking their written exam.All the best.

GATE is the graduate aptitude test of engineering.
on the basis of GATE marks.you can get admission in M.E colleges.GATE marks is also helpful to getting job.
in some company,for managerial post GATE marks are very necessary.some company also recruit on the basis of GATE marks.
so you should give the GATE and getting good marks in GATE so that it may be helpful to get job in future.

Ans:

** Yes, GATE marks are useful in getting a good job but for Govt. jobs only, that too qualifying in GATE is enough, marks and rank you got in GATE is not important

** From the last couple of years some of Govt. Sector jobs like BHEL included GATE qualification to Eligibility criteria

** So GATE is qualifying students only can appear for those exams

** To short list the good students(good in Subject) these companies included GATE to eligibility criteria

** For now still, many of Govt. sector jobs also not included GATE to eligibility criteria, but in one or two years they will include GATE to eligibility criteria

** Coming to private sector jobs, here GATE marks or qualification is not important and they will not even consider GATE marks

** Private Companies will simply conduct their own written test and follows their own selection process

** So for now there is not much important to GATE score in getting a job, but it is useful to write some Govt. Sector jobs

Yes, GATE score card is help in getting job. If your score in the GATE examination is upto 1000 then i think that you will get help to find a job. Many company recruits the candidates through the GATE score card.

sir ,you asked about the marks in gate exam but you didn't mentioned the marks ,but if you secured good marks in your gate exam so that you can get a seat in a good college for m.tech .
in the interviews some of them will ask about your achievements in your career so that for that you can mention the your gate marks .
they will be useful for getting an impression in before an interviewer so you had an chance to get an job.
