MBA stands for master of business administration ...and you must pursue it after engineering if you are interested in entrepreneurship and business management..It gives a great boost to your engineering degree and hence your income would go up considerably..The job will not be technical but managerial.. It's a great option my friend !!

Thumbs up Re: Why to study M.B.A after Engineering?

Dear friend, it is not necessary to study MBA after completing engineering.Engineering is a technical field with lot of scope, students pursue mba because they have interest in the field of management after engineering.
You have the option of M.tech i.e masters in engineering.Learning masters in same will always benefit more in career, so you can opt m.tech by cracking GATE exam.
GATE is a competitive exam that is conducted for those students who desire opt m.tech as their masters degree. To crack GATE is not easy, it requires a lot of hard work.GATE exam is held every year.
GATE is a one of the toughest entranxe exam, so before going for GATE one ,ust prepare by doing some specail coaching of GATE.
Once you cracked GATE entrance exam then you will be able to get admission in good and reputed college and getting good college for post-graduation is very necessary.
Now, you have three options as after completing engineering:-
    >Jobs
    >M.tech
    >MBA
You have to choose a right course of your interest.Analyze your interest and then prepare.Of you still want to pursue MBA then you have to give CAT and MAT exam.

    ELIGIBILITY
    >You must be graduate in engineering from a recognized university.
    >You must had score minimum 50% in graduation.

    SUGGESTION
According to my opinion you must join M.tech for good future.
No need to confuse a lot.

Re: Why to study M.B.A after Engineering?

    Hi Buddy,

Your question seems to be quite odd but what ever it is let me explain you the answer to it.

--> M.B.A stands for Master of Business Administration.
--> MBA is a post graduation course for graduated students which is completed in a 2 year time period.
--> By choosing MBA you can switch your career apart from what you have done in your engineering.
--> With just engineering degree in your hand where you stand today when compared with all others who have done the same so by having a post graduation degree you're making sure that you stand way ahead of all the others.
--> Everyone dreams of setting up his own business and start his own career for all those MBA is a perfect platform in helping dreams come true.
--> MBA helps you get a good position in a well reputed organization with good salary packages.
--> Just like engineering MBA also has different specializations to choose some of them are Operating, Marketing, Finance, HR, Business management, IT, etc.....
--> It's a complete individual choice to go for MBA or not and if chosen to go for in which specialization he want to complete his post graduation depends upon his interest.

On a whole i would say that MBA is not necessary for everyone that they must do it after completion of engineering but its an opportunity for you to shape your career in the field of management which is quite different when compared to your streams in engineering.
    All the best.

Re: Why to study M.B.A after Engineering?

MBA course is suitable for those who wish to improve their managerial skill. As a manager you will need to have expertise in areas like budgeting, forecasting, planning etc. You may need to do the same at a team level and even at the organisational level. Being from an engineering background you need to learn the basic concepts of areas like HR and finance for the same. This qualification will help you reach the managerial level in the organisation. It is not necessary for you to choose HR or finance as a specialisation. You can specialise in the systems and IT. But during the first year you will be given an insight on all the areas.

Re: Why to study M.B.A after Engineering?

    Hello,
    Who say this??
its not compulsory to do MBA after engineering..
First gain some good experience in your own field of 10-15 years and then to move to some higher levels when the responsibility comes on your shoulder to make decisions and manage the team then think of MBA.
MBA teaches you the tricks of taking decisions, develops your personality as a whole, team management skills with working on various cases and problems and then finding their solutions...
    It gives you confidence.
It enables you to think on various perspectives before taking any decision.

So dont follow the crowd and change your stream as Engineering itself treated as some professional degree course....

    All the best

It is not compulsory to study MBA after engineering. But, an MBA degree after B.Tech will help in advanced job opportunities. Also you can build up your career in the field of management. You can apply for jobs in both private sector and government sector after MBA. Several MNCS, call for qualified B.Tech graduates along with managerial qualification for different posts. Public sector companies like BHEL, SAIL, and NTPC etc recruit candidates for positions like Management Trainee. Assistant Manager etc. Also candidates can try for Specialist Officer/PO positions in banks.
