Why the product of slope principle not applicable for X-Axis and Y-Axis ? Explain in detail ?

if two lines are perpendicular then product of slopes of two lines is -1.it is not true to x-axis and y-xis why?

Because on x-axis slope is "zero" & on y-axis slope is "infinity" & finally the product of zero & infinity is "INDETERMINATE"

because when x-axis and y-axis are perpendicular then slope is 0 it is not required

Yeah you are right,,,,, The slope should be (-1) but w.k.t. the slope along x-axis and y-axis are 0 and infinity, whose product can't be done, intern this deviates from this rule....

as you must be knowing that slope, m = tan (angle made by that line on x-axis) , now since angle made by the x-axis with itself is 0 degree, therefore, the slope is 0 and hence we cannot talk about it in this case.
Now, since the angle made by the y-axis is 90 degree thus the slope comes out to be not defined. So in this case also we cannot talk of the slope of y-axis.

it is so because they are meeting at the origin and the coordinates of origin are (0,0),.so thats why slope for x-axis and y-axis is not -1.

x axis and y axis it means the condition in 2 dimension.wk.t. in 2d slope of X axis is o,wheareas the slope of y axis is infinite.so you are well known of the result of zero and infinite.
    ie. it is not -1.
    Thanks.

    X-axis and y-axis are perpendicular

    its negative

so the principle is not a applicable.

X and y axis are perpendicular so you are write.

Re: Why the product of slope principle not applicable for X-Axis and Y-Axis ? Explain in detail ?

AS we know the X-axis is a horizontal line therefor its slope is zero.
and y-axis is a standing line therefor its slope is infinity.
if we multiply any number with zero then its answer will be zero only.
and also if we cannot multiply any number with infinity.

so, as a result we cannot use product of slope principle for x-axis and y-axis.

    As we know,
X-axis is a horizontal line therefor it's slope is zero. and
Y-axis is a standing line therefor it's slope is infinite.

if we multiply any number with zero then it's answer will be zero. and
if we multiply any number with infinity then it's answer will be infinity.

so, we cannot apply slope principle for X-Axis and Y-Axis.
