    Why computer science graduates are not eligible for IES exam? Can I apply for it?

    hello sir
    why ies are not allowed for cse?i want to apply in ies and i will doind job in cse.plz told me .............to suggest me rightway

    IES is the Indian Engineering Service exam. This is one of the exams being conducted by UPSC for those Students who wish to join the Government service.It is a must that the student appearing for this examination should have completed at least graduation in engineering.Aspirant's engineering branch should be from given below or you can apply in these categories only. i.e.

    1. Civil Engineering.
    2. Mechanical Engineering.
    3. Electrical Engineering.
    4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.


    As you are telling that you are of the computer science branch So It is sorry to inform you that you can not write this examination.As I told that this examination is conducted by the UPSC, So for more information you can visit on to the official web site of UPSC.

    You have a wrong information dear.If you have completed your engineering degree from recognized university from computer science background then you are applicable for IES Exam.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

    1.Civil Engineering
    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    If you have completed Engineering course from any discipline then also you are applicable for IES exam.

    OR

    If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

    Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

    IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year.

    To apply for this examination the candidate have to qualified engineering degree from a recognized University and there is no Specific percentage required for this examination.final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for this examination.

    The Engineering degree in following discipline :-

    ~~Civil Engineering
    ~~Mechanical Engineering
    ~~Electrical Engineering
    ~~Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

    or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.

    M.Sc candidate may also eligible to apply for this examination but some specific branches only.

    Age limits for this examination,the candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years at the time of appearing for this examination and relaxation is given to the reserved categories.

    Upper age limits :-

    ~~5 year for SC/ST categories.
    ~~3 year for OBC categories.

    AS YOUR IA CSE GRADUATE,SO YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPEAR FOR IES EXAM.

    The INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES Exams are conducted once in an year by the UPSC.
    The minimum educational qualification to appear in this examination is holding a degree of BTech in any four of the following streams:
    ELECTRONICS & TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING.
    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.
    ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.
    CIVIL ENGINEERING.
    so computer science students can't apply in this IES exam

    no you are not eligible for IES exam but you are eligible for IAS exam.
    only these stream student eligible for ies:
    >mechanical engineering
    >civil engineering
    >electrical engineering
    >electrical communication and engineering.

    All departments in engineering and graduates from recognised universities are eligible for IES exam but there is less opportunity for computer science students in IES jobs

    IES examination is one of the civil services examination which is conducted by the Union Public Services Commission in India and this examination is one of the all India wide examination which is taking place for the engineering graduates of the respective areas of study.There are some respective branches of study for which the IES examination is eligible for and the branches of study for which the IES examination is eligible are.......
    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics and Communication Engineering
    And the computer Science engineers are not eligible for the jobs through the IES examination as the computer science engineering graduates will not be having the suitable jobs which are related to the computer science engineering and there so you are not eligible for the IES examination as the IES examination is not eligible for the computer science engineering.......

    *Indian Railways
    *Central Engineering services
    *Indian Defense Services of engineers
    *Indian Ordnance Factories

    These are some of the services which are offered through the IES examination and the computer science related areas of work are not available and so the computer science engineers are not eligible for appearing to the IES examination.

    In order to appear for the IES examination you also need to have some of the qualifications which are needed in order to get the jobs through the IES examination.....

    >>should have achieved the age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years
    >>candidates who are in the final year of the graduation are also eligible for appearing to the IES examination.

    Computer Science engineering students may also eligible to apply for the engineering service examination so don't worry about this examination . This examination is conducted for recruitment of Civil , Mech , Electrical , Electronics and Telecommunication engineering in the central government . This examination is conducted Once in year by Union Public Service Examination . Minimum Education Qualification for this examination is that applicant should have a engineering degree from a recognized University .

    If you are not coming from Civil , Mechanical , Electrical , Electronics and Telecommunication department then you have to opt this any one of the branch from Engineering Service examination to apply . If you are opting any one of the branch then you are eligible to apply for this examination .

    IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service Examination and this examination is conducted by UPSC Once in a year . IES Exam notification will be publish in the month of March in the official website as well as employment news papers . Engineering degree holders or pursing in the final year of degree holders can apply for this examination .

    -->> Engineering degree from a recognized University .

    Information about IES Exam :

    IES stands for indian engineering service and this is conducted by the union public service commission under the civil services examination. For this the UPSC has inviting the applications every year once in the month of december and exam will be conducted in the month of may.

    For writing the indian engineering service exam, you need to qualify the following required requirements like educational qualifications and age limit and also see selection procedure for getting engineer officer post.

    Required Requirements :

    For writing the indian engineering service exam, required educational qualifications are you must completed the Graduation in Engineering filed from recognized university, but you need to select the following optional subject given in below.

    >> Civil Engineering,
    >> Electronics & telecommunication Engineering,
    >> Mechanical Engineering,
    >> Electrical Engineering.

    Required age limit should be 21 years and maximum age limit should be 30 years and here upper age limit also available as per govt rules such as 3 years for OBC category candidate and 5 years for SC/ST category candidate.

    You can attempt 4 times for UPSC exam and 7 times if you are OBC category candidates and no limit for SC/ST category candidates and before that you should be citizen of india and physical fit according to govt rules.

    Selection Procedure :

    For become a indian engineer, the selection procedure is based on written test and physical effective test / interview. Apart from first conducted the written test and this containing the objective type questions with multiple choices answers and written test containing the various papers such as;.



    After qualifying the written test called for interview and this is a final selection process and after qualifying the interview you have a 1 year training period and after completing the training you can become a indian engineer.

    If you have degree for B.TECH or BE in CS then you are applicable for IES exam .

    IES stand for Indian Engineering Service which is conducted by UPSC.Only B-TECH degree holder and some M.Sc department are applicable for this exam.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

    Candidates must be complete engineering in any one following course
    Mechanical Engineering
    Civil Engineering
    Electrical Communication & Engineering
    Electrical Engineering

    Age limit :

    The Candidates age limit between 21 to 30 years as on 01.07.2012
    upper age limit relaxable for SC/ST , OBC & categories other categories

    No of Attempts :

    Four times for General
    Seven times for OBC
    no limit for SC/ST
