The registration is open throughout the year. The CS examinations are conducted twice in a year, usually in the months of June and December. You have to submit the filled application forms for the June exam on or before 25th March 2012. The CS course includes three different stages. They are Foundation course, Intermediate course, and Final course. The topics included in the foundation course are Economics and Statistics, Elements of Business Laws and Management, English and Business Communication, and Financial Accounting. The intermediate course consists of 2 modules and the final course includes 4 modules.

Exam of Company Secretaries of India conducted by Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is held twice every year- in June and December.

To apply for Company Secretaryship Course one has to apply 9 months prior to the examination month.

For example:
If you have to give the exam in June, you need to apply in September of the previous year.
Similarly, if you have to appear for December exam, you should apply for it in February of the same year.

The application for all the three levels of CS courses-
1. Foundation Course
2. Executive Course
3. Professional Course
are same, i.e; 9 months prior to the examination month.
