DRDO Scientist Entrance Test (SET)

Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is an agency of the Republic of India which does innovative development of technology required for the military purposes.

DRDO SET all India entrance exam is conducted every year to recruit engineering or scientific graduates.

This recruitment process is done by Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) of DRDO.

The exam is usually conducted on the first Sunday of September every year.

DRDO employs only highly qualified and efficient scientists and technologists to Defence Research and Development Service (DRDS).


Structure and Pattern of DRDO SET

DRDO SET exam is of three hours duration consisting of two sections ;

Section‘A’& Section ‘B’

Section 'A' has a total of 100 questions in the area where applicant has graduates like engineering stream or science subjects

Section 'B' of 50 questions is on testing analytical and qualitative skills, and to gauge application understanding of current affairs and general awareness

Based on the organisation's requirements, DRDO SET exam can be set to cover questions in conventional engineering streams like civil. Electrical and mechanical as well as new ones like aero, electronics&communication, metallurgy and science subjects such as Chemistry, Physics and Maths.

Selection in DRDO Totally based on the score secured for entrance Exam. The short listed candidate are called for Personal Interview for final admission.

Recruitment & Assessment center (RAC) of Defense Research & Development Organization restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of achievements by conducting a screening test named DRDO Scientists Entry Test (DRDO SET).

DRDO SET i.e Defence Research & Development Organisation SET:

The DRDO is conducted all indian entrance exam i,e SET for 1st sunday of SEPTEMBER of every year and notification will be released on month of April / May every year for scientific post in DRDO and this is a one of the research center for various production of world class weapon systems.

So if you want to write the SET entrance exam for scientist post and for SET entrance exam required requirements are follow bellow;..

Required Requirements :

For this entrance exam required educational qualifications are you must completed the graduation in Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Communication Engg / Mechanical Engg / Computer Science & Engg/ Chemical Engg/ Electrical Engg from a recognized university.

So ,if you are not engineering graduate or equivalent degree then your academic percentage is 60% or 6.75 CGPA shall be considered and final year students also apply for this exam.

Required age limit should be 21-30 years and here age relaxation is also possible as per govt rules following are the upper age limit;..

• 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates
• 3 years in case of OBC,Ex-serviceman candidates
• 5 years for PH candidates (10 years for SC/ST and 08 years for OBC candidates)

Selection Processor :

For this exam the selection processor will be based on the written test after qualifying the written test called for personal interview ,apart from the written test quaestion paper will be divide in to 2 sections like;.Section A & B.

Section A will consist of 100 questions and each correct answer will get 4 marks and for each incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted.

Section B will consist of 50 questions based on aptitude and and each correct answer will get 2 marks and for each incorrect answer 1/2 mark will be deducted. relevant to Applied Research & Development.

Apply Processor :

For this exam the apply processor is based on the online method by visiting http://rac.drdo.in and application available official website by paying the application fee at ant bank and the application form fee will be 300 rupees for general/OBC candidates and 100 for SC/ST candidates.

DRDO exams will not be conducted for the academic year 2012, It has been confirmed as i had called DRDO-HELP people according to them DRDO SET has not been conducted from past three years as there is no vacancy to filled, and hence this time also for the year 2012 there is NO VACANCY, hence its been cancelled. SO better luck next time.
