You did not mention your college, where you are doing your B.Sc. Biotech. It depends on your institute and on the time the previous examination was held in. Normally the course duration is of 4 semesters and 6 months constitute one semester. But you will never see an institute taking its semester for 6 long months. On the reverse the examinations are taken even after 3 months. So you may have a situation where you have had 3 semesters, all in one year. So if your 4th semester has taken place, say in January, 2012, then your 5th semester may be scheduled along the time of May or June,2012. But this I am saying, without knowing the exact name of your institute and the exact time of the past semesters of your institute. What I am mentioning here is norm which is followed in more or less in the maximum institutes.
Now, the second part of your question is very important. My answer would have been different if you were not from a semester module. Being from a semester system, you must know that it is your respective teacher who check your copy for that subject. If you go for a review, your respective teacher will definitely come to know about it. Then what will happen is that you will create an unnecessary negative impression in the mind of your teacher. This will not only leave you with a little or minor improvement from the review, but will also prevent you from getting good marks from further on. So I don't recommend review here.
