After B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, if you don't want any jobs, the best option for you would be doing internship with a Government organization like Delhi Metro System. Internship will provide you with loads of experience and exposure. Other than this, you can join other vocational courses and trainings like CAD systems, Machine Drawing through automated systems. You can also opt for a Post graduate degree such as M.Tech or MBA. If you want you can also join a Central Government Mechanical Engineer Job. If you want to enter Technological field, then you should also learn basic programming skills of C/C++, JAVA, etc. Many manufacturing companies also provide short term trainings for experience which you can join. It will also help you a lot.
    all the best!!

Well Mechanical Engineering the Father of all Modern Engineering is an ever green branch of engineering with immense opportunities awaited.

However, if you want to optf or some short time course then I will advice for a Diploma in Patent & Intellectual Property Services.

You can pursue that course from Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP) one of the best IP Law schools of India.
It offers 9 Months Diploma in Patent & Intellectual Property Services.
Any Science, Engineering, Graduates or Post Graduates are free to pursue that course, in fact its specially meant for Engineering Graduates.
Also GIIP has achieved excellent placement records in all leading MNC's relating to science and technology stream

Admission for 2011 - 2012 session haven't started yet, better keep an eye for important dates and also for any further information you can
visit there official website - http://giipinfo.com/

After you finish your B.Tech program, it is good to pursue the Post graduation in the same field. Engineering is a respected profession, so it will increase your career prospects once you study the higher education. After the M.Tech, the aspirants will find opportunities in chemical industries, educational institutions; quality-testing labs etc. If you are interested, you can pursue the PhD or M.Phil for getting opportunities in colleges or universities. You can study many job-oriented programs after B.Tech. Some of them are Advanced Java, Oracle, CCNA etc. For getting opportunities, you must study theses programs from reputed institutes. Some of the institutes providing these courses are IBM, CMC, NIIT etc. You can pursue these programs only if you plan to make a career in the same. Having good conceptual knowledge of the B.Tech degree will be useful.

Today , a lot of work for mechanical branch are done from the computers . So , while pursuing your graduation degree , retrive your time for some computer courses related to mechanical branch.
Your field will deal with the designing of cars, motors, metals, roads. etc. So the main course available for the mechanical students is AUTO-CAD.
You can do that course from a government certified institute.
