    Hi,

    MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission which is a body which conducts exam to recruit candidates in Maharashtra Government departments and Agencies. It Conducts Written exams and Personal Interviews.



    The Notifications about the exam are given in the papers or it updated in the Website of the MPSC. So keep logging to the website for day to day updates.

    The Exam is divided into 2 sections:

    Compulsory Subjects:

    Marathi
    English
    General Studies I
    General Studies II

    Optional Subjects

    Computer Science
    Mechanical Engineering

    The notification for the MPSC preliminary exam is not yet released in the official website or in the employment news.

    Generally, the application forms will be available from the second week of August.

    You will be able to submit the filled application till the last week of August 2012.

    The preliminary exam will be held in the last week of September 2012.

    To appear for the exam, you should have a minimum qualification of graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.


    Compulsory 6 papers:

    1) English (100 Marks) Descriptive type questions

    2) Marathi (100 Marks) Descriptive type questions

    3) General Studies Paper I (150 Marks) Objective type questions (MCQs) 2 hours

    4) General Studies Paper II (150 Marks) Objective type questions (MCQs) - 2 hours

    5) General Studies Paper III (150 Marks) Objective type questions (MCQs) - 2 hours

    6) General Studies Paper IV (150 Marks) Objective type questions (MCQs) - 2 hours

    Negative Marking for GS papers For 2 wrong answers 1 mark will be cut.



    Passing Marks:

    45% in each of the 6 papers for Open Category

    40% in each of the 6 papers for Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBCs, etc)

    Interview: 100 Marks

    MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission .

    Eligibility criteria for applying in the MPSC is :

    You must be a Degree in Science/Engineering .
    And you age must be in between 19-28 yearsonly.

    The syllabus for MPSC Preliminary Exams 2012 are :

    For the year 2012 the Maharashtra Public Service Commission has decided to conduct the examination with the New pattern and Syllabus.

    English :-

    Essay
    Letter Writting

    Communication Skill :-

    A notice
    Dialagu writting
    Speeches
    An individualconversation with a group of people
    A GroupDiscussion, a Meeting, a Teleconference on a topical issue

    Grammar :

    i)Transformation of Sentences,

    there so many topics ans many no of chapters covers in this exam . MPSC Syllabus 2012 is very large and deep one by one i did mention the details --

    History:- Post Independence development: Integration of princely states, formation of Linguistic states,Samyukta Maharashtra movement major political parties and personalitiesinvolved therein, Major developments and personalities during 1960-1990.

    1) English:- Essay,Letter Writting

    2) Communication Skill:-
    A notice
    Dialagu writting
    Speeches
    An individua lconversation with a group of people
    A GroupDiscussion

    3) Precis writing

    Paraphrase of a Prose Passage

    Grammar :

    The eligibility required for appearing in this exam is asfoloows:-

    >>Your minimum educational qualification should be Graduation pass out from any stream.
    >>Your minimum percentage of marks should be 50%.
    >>Your minimum age should be 21 years.
    >>Your age should not be above 32 years.

    Age relaxations will be given to you if you have cross the upper age limit and you comes under the reserved category candidates.

    Age relaxations are as follows:-

    >>For OBC - 3 YEARS
    >>For SC/ST - 5 YEARS.

    The syllabus of this exam is as follows:-

    >>Hindi/Regional Language.
    >>English Grammer.
    >>History.
    >>Civics.
    >>Geography.

    There will be total of 200 questions and total time given will be 2 hours.
    In order to appear for the Mains exam you will have to score at least 140 marks in the preliminary exam.
