For appearing for this exam you need to have completed your Masters degree. While selecting the subject for NET exam make sure it is from the area specialised in Masters course. You need to be prepared for two papers. For the first paper you need to be prepared answer objective type questions. For the next paper there will be two parts to it. The first part will have short essay type questions and the latter the full length questions. For this you will be tested in areas like discrete structures, Programs like C and C++, Computer Arithmetics, SQL, Networks and Data Structure. You also need to be prepared in areas like System Software, Operating and Software Engineering, For the next section there will be questions from circuits, data models, Animation etc. The last paper you can choose from Unix, Non Linear Programming, LLP etc.

The UGC has set up the syllabus and pattern for the NET exam for the Computer Science subject. There will be two separate question papers for the NET computer science exam, Paper II and Paper III. The Paper II is an objective type paper with multiple choice questions. This paper will have 50 questions. The Paper III is of two parts A & B. The Part A will have 10 short essay questions which carry 16 marks each. The Part B is a compulsory paper and will have 1 question from each of the elective subjects a will carry 40 marks. The Paper II will have question from Discrete Structure, Computer Arithmetic’s, C and C++, SQL, data and file structure, computer networks, system software’s, OS etc.

The NET computer science exam consists of 2 question papers Paper - II and Paper III.

Paper II covering 50 objective questions with multiple choice questions carrying 100 marks.

Paper III containing 10 short essay questions with internal choice from each unit carrying 16 marks each and total marks of 200.

Syllabus and Information about UGC NET Examination -

>> NET Stands for National Eligiblity Test and the examination was Conducted by UGC Twice in a year, First in June and December. The June NET 2011 Examination was already completed, And If you are Interested to apply for NET, then please apply for the December NET Examination.

>> To apply for NET Examination you need to complete Your Post Graduation in any discipline But you have to choose those subjects which you have already studied in your Post graduation. You must have to scored minimum 55% marks in your Post graduation only then you are eligible for NET Examination.

>> So please wait for the December NET Examination Notification, The Notification was declared soon in Next month, Eligible candidates may fill the Application form Online, but you have to pay the fees as the challan form in any SBI Branch, The examination fees of NET was Rs 450.

UGC NET 2011 Syllabus

You can download the syllabus of Test for all NET subjects can be from the UGC Website: www.ugc.ac.in and are also available in the libraries of all Indian universities. UGC will not send the syllabus to individual candidates.

In case of Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science and Environmental Sciences, the question papers will be in English only.

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test and it's conducted by UGC(Union Grants Commission) twice every year(June and December).

I am attaching you all the information regarding your Computer science syllabus and also the useful data.

Eligibility for NET::

-> You must have PG with min.55%
-> 2types of Posts in NET:
1)Lectureship post(LS)
2)Junior Research Fellowship(JRF)

-->There is no upper age limit for "Lectureship post"
-->You must be within 28years for "Junior Research Fellowship"(5years age relaxation for SC/ST,BC and PH Candidates)
->If you are in Final year of your PG also eligible to write NET.

Exam Pattern of NET::

# It consists of 3Papers
* Paper I
* Paper II
* Paper III
# Both Paper I and Paper II are OBJECTIVE TYPE. Paper III is DESCRIPTIVE TYPE.
# Paper I contains
- General Knowledge
- Current Affairs
- Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Methods For (50 questions) – 100 Marks
# Paper II contains
- Your Core subject for (50 questions) - 100 Marks.
# Paper III contains
- Your core subject in PG and will have 4Sections.
Section 1- 5x5= 25 marks (30 words)
Section 2 –15x5=75 marks (30 words)
Section 3- 5x12= 60 marks (200 words) and

Application Procedure for NET::

->> You have to apply online before the specific date announced by UGC.

->> Two print-outs of filled in online application form,exam attendance slip and admission card at the respective centers (with fee receipt and category certificates) are the documents required for applying to this exam.

->> This will be of 450rs/- for General and 110 rs/- for SC/ST.

->> You have to pay this through SBI Challan form Via Online.

->> The last date for submission is on 25th October'2011
