Re: What is the syllabus for Civil Services exam?

Civil services examination are one of the toughest exams of the country. You have asked about the syllabus of the exam.
As far as syllabus of the CSE exams are concerned, the preliminary exams that is the initial level have a common syllabus for
all the candidates that sit for the exam. So, firstly I would like to discuss about the syllabus of preliminary exams.
Actually this is a general kind of exam ,so questions are asked from various general kind of subjects for example-
General awareness, decision making and problem solving questions, analytical questions, mental ability problems,
general science, questions based on basic mathematics, English language comprehension skills, etc.

Now, if you are able to clear the initial level, you would be eligible to appear for the intermediate level that is Mains
exam. For the purpose of appearing for the exam, you would be required to select two papers depending on your choice and preference.
Mainly students like to select the subjects that they have already studied in their graduation as they have a
good back ground of the subjects that they have already studied. And this thing very much helps in their
preparation. So, the syllabus depends on the subjects selected by you.

And finally you have to prepare for the personal interview where you would be checked regarding your confidence
and knowledge. The interviewer would test you on a number of parameters.
