    Civil Services examination is Conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Comission) Every year in two Phases : Preliminary examination and Main examination. If your aim is to become IAS (Indian Administrative Service Officer), IPS (Indian Police Service Officer) and Any Other Government Officer, then please try to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination.

    Firstly you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination and this examination, There are 2 Papers in this examination and Both are of same marks and same Duration. The examination will be Objective with same duration and Marks. So please prepare well for Preliminary examination and then apply for this examination.

    Those who cracked the Preliminary examination and eligible to appear for Main examination. The Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the Optional Subjects for Main examination on the basis of Graduate subjects.

    To apply for this examination, you have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised University, Final year graduate candidates are also apply for this examination, so if your age should between 21 to 30 Years, then you are apply for Civil Services examination.

    >> Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
    >> Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
    >> General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
    >> General Science.

    Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: 2 hours

    >> Comprehension
    >> Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    >> Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    >> Decision-making and problem solving
    >> General mental ability

    You have to undergo from various exam in order to qualify for the UPSC.

    Firstly, the Preliminary examinations. There are two papers. The papers are on:
    • General Studies
    • Some optional subject
    After passing this exam you will get you into the next round of the main exam.

    General Studies paper consists of questions on:
    • Indian Polity & Economy

    • Indian and World Geography
    • Current Affairs of National and International Importance

    Optional subject paper are:

    CSAT is a part of IAS exam and you have to qualify in CSAT in order to write next level i.e Main Exams..! The exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

    Syllabus for civil services aptitude test(CSAT) is as follows :





    Eligibility Criteria :

    You must be a citizen of India.
    Age limits:
    - You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
    upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
    upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)
    You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent)
    Number of attempts::
    - General candidates: four attempts.
    - Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
    - Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

    Civil Services Aptitude Test is carried out by UPSC. The test is carried in two state sections. The preliminary level exam is carried out in two sections. The first sections cover GK type questions. The second paper is meant to measure the analytical and reasoning skills of the candidate. This includes questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English comprehension etc. The questions in the main paper is based on the optional subject selected by the candidate.

    Any stream like B.Sc,B.A,B.C.A,B.Com,B.B.A,B.B.M,B.E,M.B.B.S...... ...............etc.

    The candidate must have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and upper age limits is given to the reserved categories.Three year relaxation for OBC and Five years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

    The number of attempts of this examination :-
    • 4 years for General candidates.
    • 7 years for OBC candidates.
    • No limits for SC/ST candidates.

    From this year onwards the candidates aspiring for Civil services
    examination will have to face a different pattern of examination as
    opposed to the earlier preliminary examination.

    From this year onwards a new examination scheme has been introduced
    in place of the preliminary examination which is the Civil Services
    Aptitude Test (CSAT). The CSAT will consist of two papers which will
    test the general awareness of the candidate alon with logical reasoning
    skills and aptitude of the candidate.

    The CSAT will total comprise of two papers. Each paper will be of 200
    marks and will be 2 hours of duration.The question paper will be fully
    objective. The two papers will be as follows :-

    Paper 1 which will have questions related to General awareness.

    Paper 2 which will have questions related to :-

    -Logical Reasoning
    -Data Interpretation
    -Quantitative Aptitude
    -Problem solving
    -Decision Making skills
