    Syllabus and Exam Pattern:


    Total Marks for B. Ed. Entrance: 75 (75 Questions)

    Time Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes

    The Entrance Test is divided into FIVE parts of 15 Marks and 15 Questions Each:

    Part A: General Awareness Test

    Part B: Teaching Potential Test

    Part C: General Mental Ability Test

    Part D: Language Proficiency Test


    Negative Marking:

    >>Negative marking will be there for each Answer.

    >> For each correct answer 1 mark will be awarded.

    >>For each wrong answer ¼ of a mark will be deducted. A wrong answer means an incorrect answer or any overwriting or cutting or erasing or illegible answer or more than one answer to the same question.

    In this part there are six papers of two sections each as given below, Each paper is
    a separate course.
    Course (1) Education for new times
    Course (2) Psychology of Development and Learning. Course (3) School
    management- Principles and Practices.
    Course (4) Information Communication Technology and Instructional Designs
    Course (5) Educational Evaluation and Elective Electives
    1) Environmental education and
    Disaster Management
    4) Education and Human rights
    2) Educational Research 5) Health, Physical Education and
    Yoga.
    Guidance and counseling in School 6) Population and Adult Education
    Student teacher will select anyone elective subject from the above list for section
    II of course 5.
    Course (6) Subject Education
    For course 6 students will select any two subjects from the following list. Out of
    these two subjects one subject must be the subject in which admission is given.
    1. Marathi Education 2. Hindi Education
    3. English Education 4. Sanskrit Education
    5. History Education 6. Geography Education
    7. Economics Education 8. Commerce Education
    9. Science Education 10. Mathematics Education
    11.Urdu Education. 12. ICT Education
    13. French Education 14. German Education
    Part II
    This part includes Tutorials, Content enrichment programme & internal tests.
    These three heads indicate the courses.
    Course (7): Internal Tests:
    It is expected that at least two internal tests in theory courses should be held
    during the year. Marks calculated out of 30 are to be given for the internal tests.
    Collage should conduct at least one examination in each term.

    A PERSON TO TAKE THE B.ED EXAMINATION SHOULD BE A GRADUATE OR HAVE APPEARED IN THE FINAL YEAR OF GRADUATION. SOME UNIVERSITIES HAVE ALSO SET MINIMUM MARKS AS 50% TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR TAKING THE EXAM.

    There are a lot of Universities which conducts an entrance exam for B. Ed. Entrance for Regular and Correspondence Courses.

    The Duration of the exam is 1 hour and 30 minutes and the exam consists of Multiple choice type questions and the paper also has negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

    There are Five sections in the test of 15 Marks and 15 Questions Each:

    entrance examination consist of questions related to general awareness and on
    subjects related to your graduation plus aptitude question.

    Eligibility for apply in such examination is graduation with 50% marks.

    Admission to the B.Ed. Program is open to men and women from all parts of the country.


    Eligibility:

    a) you should have any Bachelor’s degree or any other equivalent course from any recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the 10+2+3 or
    11+2+2 pattern,

    or
    with a minimum 55 % marks in aggregate in the 10+2+2 or 11+3 pattern

    b)you should study at-least two subjects, to be later taken as the teaching subjects at the bachelor’s degree level with minimum 50% marks.

    c)any Master degree and M.aster in commerce,Philosophy, Sociology or Psychology course from any recognized university with a minimum of 50% .

    d)you should study at least two subjects at the bachelor’s degree level,which will you take as the teaching subject.

    For the top B.Ed colleges you need to clear the entrance exams like IIT-JEE,AIEEE,BITSAT,etc

    For these exams the syllabus is same as your class 11th and 12th syllabus of PCM

    Books For Preparations :-

    Firstly,be completely thorough with your NCERT course books as many times..direct questions are asked from the NCERT..
    For Higher Preparations..you should refer to the following books :-

    1) M.L.Khanna for Maths
    2) P.Bahadur for Chemistry
    3) Concepts of Physics

    B.Ed -- Bachelors in Educations.

    This is Post Graduation course in India, which is Mandatory Degree for Teachers of India.

    For getting into this course, you need to appear for the B.Ed entrance examination called Ed.CET .


    Eligibility Criteria of Ed-CET

    You should have cleared one of the following degrees from any of the Universities recognized by Indian Government.:

    B.A.
    B.Sc.
    B.Com.
    B.Sc.(Home Science)
    B.C.A.
    B.B.M.

    If you are writing their final year exams of the above mentioned degrees in the respective year may also apply for the exam.

    General Category Candidates should have achieved a minimum aggregate of 50% in one of the Bachelor Degrees mentioned above.

    Other reserved category candidates should have a minimum aggregate of 40% in their respective degrees.

    Age Limit of Ed-CET

    Candidate should be above the age of 19years by the date mentioned in that particular year.

    Qualification Criteria for Ed.CET

    General and OBC category candidates should get a minimum of 37 marks in the Ed-CET exam to qualify it.

    For SC/ST Category candidates a minimum mark has not been defined .

    The Ed-CET paper is divided into three sections.

    - Current Affairs – Scientific, politic and economic updates. Daily read your news paper and keep yourself up to date.
    - History, Geography, Economics, Civics, Environment and so on of India and its neighboring countries.
    - Questions about analytical Thinking, general awareness, aptitude related to teaching.

    Section C (Optional Subject)

    In this section you can choose from the following subjects and thus prepare accordingly.
    1. Mathematics – It consists of Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Probability etc. . Inshort mathematics syllabus of graduation level, but topics will be from 8th, 9th and 10th syllabus.
    2. Physical Sciences – This includes Physics and Chemistry syllabus of graduation level, but topics will be from 8th, 9th and 10th syllabus .

    To join the B.Ed course candidate should be graduate from a recognized university.Final year graduate student also join the course.

    Syllabus for B.Ed exam :- It covers the following areas..

    Paper will be based on Objective type question.Your marks will be cut for every wrong answer.

    Those candidate have completed graduation or post graduation from recognized university are applicable for B.Ed course.

    Your graduation or post graduation marks must be hold above 50% . For SC/ST candidate this marks is decreased to above 45% marks.


    There is no age criteria so any one who holds the above criteria are eligible for B.Ed course.


    Every university conduct their own entrance exam for B.Ed candidate selection.


    Syllabus for B.Ed course:-
    • Sections-1-General English Comprehension or General Hindi Comprehension
    • Sections-2-Logical & Analytical Reasoning
    • Sections-3-Educational & General Awareness
    • Sections-4-Teaching,Learning & the School

    Main content of the B.Ed Entrance exam are as follow:
    1. Numerical Ability
    2. G.K and Metal Ability
    3. English
    4. Teaching Potential
    5. Language Test

    B.Ed Exam Pattern
    B.Ed is an objective type test with multiple-choice answers. The test is designed to measure a person¡¯s general aptitudes as the following table indicates:
    Subject
    No. of Question Marks
    Numerical Ability 15/ 15
    G.K and Metal Ability 15/ 15
    English 15/ 15
    Teaching Potential 15 /15
    Language Test 15 /15
    However number of questions and marks per question may varyfrom university to university but the general format of the test remains the samefor most of the universities and institutions.
    There is negative marking for each wrong answer ie is 25% of the right answer

    B.Ed Exam Fee
    At Present the cost of a B.Ed entrance exam Prospectus is Rs.500/- and Rs 500/- is the fee to be deposited with the form for taking the fee.
