    You can choose any subjects in B.A to become an IPS officer. Graduation in any subjects is the education qualification required for this post. There is no specification about a particular subject area to be opted in graduation course to apply for this post. Minimum age limit for this position is 21 years. Maximum age specified to apply for this post is 30 years. Age limit will be relaxed for reserved categories. Age relaxation for 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates are allowed. You need to appear for Civil service examination conducted by UPSC to get in to this post. You need to first appear for Preliminary exam and if you successfully clear the same you will need to attend Main exam as well. The last stage of selection process consists of Physical Test and Personal Interview.

    IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

    Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.

    But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
    In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

    The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.Also you must be citizen of India.

    Height, Weight and chest for IPS exam-



    Eye sight 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

    Blood pressure (High) Age 23 123, age 24 124, age 25 122, age 28 124, age 30 125, age 32 126, age 34 127.
    Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels.

    Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

    IPS Stands for Indian Police Service Examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year . To apply for this , the applicant should have a any graduate degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification . There is no percentage bar required and pass marks is enough to appear for this examination .

    Age should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and Upper age limits is applicable for SC/ST/OBC and Other reserved categories .

    Attempts :- four attempts is given to the General candidate , seven attempts is given to the OBC candidate , No limits for SC/ST candidates .

    IPS examination can be divided into three stages :- Prelims , Main , Personal Interview as well as Physical Test .

    First you need to appear for Prelims and if you are cleared this examination then called for the Main examination . Main Examination can be divided into nine papers .
    • Paper 1 :- One of the Indian Languages
    • Paper 2 :- English Language
    • Paper 3 :- Essay
    • Paper 4 & 5 :- General Studies
    • Paper 6,7,8,9 :- Two optional Subjects (Prescribed from below list )

    After clearing the main examination , the applicants are called for Physical test and Personal Interview .

    The application forms are available in the official website as well as offline . This year prelims notification was already released and last date for application was also already closed . So , if you are not fill the application . Your missed chance to appear . But don't worry next notification will be publish in the month of Feb or Mar in the official website .

    IPS stands for INdian Police Services.The examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of Police officer in Indian government services.

    For this examination only graduation is sufficient in any stream from a recognized university.There is no restriction for subject to studied at B.A. .

    Eligibility for IPS:

    Candidates must have graduation degree in any stream of recognized university.

    Final year candidates of graduation are also eligible fot IPS examination.


    age limit:

    atleast 21 years to 30 years.

    age relaxation is given to reserved category candiates.

    for obc : 3 years
    for sc/st : 5 years.

    the examination consist of two stages :
    Preliminary
    Mains.
    and than successful candidates are called for personal Interview.

    you should be physically and mentally fit.

    For appearing in IPS exam you will require the following eligibility:-

    >>You must be graduation pass out from any stream.
    >>Your minimum age should be 21 years.

    As you are going to do BA(Bachelor of Arts) and you are interested in IPS exam,it will better for you to take :-

    >>Hindi/Other Regional language as one of your subject.
    >>History
    >>Political science.
    >>Economics.
    >>Geography.

    You should one of the above paper as a honor paper and the rest should be subsidiary paper.

    One important thing is that you cannot able to appear in this exam after 28 years.
    It will only be possible if you comes under the reserved category.
    Reserved category candidates will get age relaxations as per government norms.

    IPS is one of the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of Police Officers .

    For appearing in Civil services examination you mush have completed the graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
    There is no restriction towards subjects to study in Graduation.
    No percentage restriction.

    Educational qualification :

    The candidates are only required to must have completd graduation in any stream.

    Age limit :
    21 years to 30 years.

    Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.


    Exam consist of two stages :
    preliminary
    Mains.

    Preliminary qualified are called to Mains examination.
