The subjects which are required to be studied for becoming a Chartered Accountant are the same for both of the countries. The subjects required to be studied at the entrance level can be listed as follows:-
1)Fundamentals of Accountancy- 50 questions are asked from this subject and carries 50 marks.
    2)Economics- same marks.
3)Mercantile law- It consists of contract law, sales act, etc and all this provides you with a basic understanding of the law relating to contracts in India.
4)Quantitative Aptitude- It consists of topics from general mathematics, arithmetic accuracy, etc.

The subjects which are required to be studied at the intermediate level of examination includes- Cost accounting, Taxation,Accountancy (even relating to banking companies, insurance companies, etc),
Financial management, corporate law, ethics and communication, Audit, information technology and strategic management, etc.
All of these subjects require a thorough understanding of the subject matter and the intermediate level (IPCC) is usually tough and challenging.
The minimum qualification required to appear for CA entrance examination that is CPT(Common Proficiency Test) is to have completed higher secondary from a recognised board.
