    hello

for the IAS eligibility , you need to have done a graduation in any field ,
for your 12th STD you need to select computer science /statistical branches
for your graduation it will be best to take the BA course with any language as major , so that it will be helpful to you to select the specialization in your main exam of your UPSC.

Thumbs up Choose arts if you want to be an IAS..

    Dear friend.

For the Indian Administrative Services officer you have to crack the India's most competitive exam called as the Indian Civils Services Exam making the exam as the India's most competitive exam.

To be eligible for the exam:
    >>you have to be an Indian national/pakistani/Bhutani/Burma or nepal with an intension of permanently settling in India.
    >>you can attempt the exam just 4 times if from the general category, 7times for the OBC candidates and unlimited no. of times for the SC/ST candidates.
    >>you have to be 21 to 30 years of age. There is 3 years upper age relaxation for the OBC and 5 years for the SC/ST candidates and ex service men.
    >>You have to be a graduate in any discipline of arts, science or commerce.

So that means you have to enter in to any discipline after 10th-arts/commerce/science to become IAS.
But there is a suggstion from me:
*If you want to be come an IAS officer only then choose arts as the main subject in 11th as the arts students qualify more in the exam
*If you want to have a bright future if not able to crack the entrance then go with science stream

The notification for the exam is published in the top newspapers in the month of february along with you can even access them at the regional or the head post offices and also the official website of the UPSC. www.upsc.gov.in.

    Exam pattern:

    Good luck

    FRIEND,

You can choose anything after 10th if you wanted to become an IAS officer.

You can choose any stream you like after 10th but you must have a detail knowledge in that subject and stream.

For The IAS exam there is no criteria of minimum marks required in the Graduation to be eligible to appear in the CIVIL SERVICES EXAM conducted by UPSC.

Your age must be between 21 to 30 years and 3 and 5 years of relaxation is given to OBC and SC/ST category candidates respectively.

You must be an INDIAN CITIZEN.

You are allowed only 4 attempts if you are from general category and No limit and 7 attempts for the SC/ST and OBC category candidates respectively.

If you are in the final year of Graduation then also you are eligible to appear in the exams of CIVIL SERVICES.

THE POSTS THROUGH THE CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATIONS ARE:

The Selection is conducted in three stages:

    1)CSAT
    2)MAINS
    3)PERSONAL INTERVIEW.

    SCHEME OF EXAMINATION IS:

    MY DEAR FRIEND

To become an IAS officer you have to apply for the civil service examination.
For civil service examination the qualification required is graduation.
So its not necessary to choose a specific branch for the IAS exam.
You can choose any stream and have to complete graduation to apply
    for the IAS exam.

But one thing I want to say you that in civil service examination in paper
mostly the topics that are asked are related to politics, history and all.
So its good if you choose arts stream if you want to do preparation for
the IAS exam after 10th class.
