    What steps should be taken to prepare for IAS and IPS exams? Which optional papers would be suitable for me? When is the next IAS/IPS exam?

    hello
    I have completed my b-tech in electrical engineering this year. I want to know what further steps should I take to prepare for IAS & IPS exams? Which papers would be most suitable for me? What optionals paper can I opt for the exams? When will be the next exams held?

    IAS and the IPS are one of the civil services which are offered by the UPSC services an these services are one of the prestigious services which are offered and these services needs tough preparation as there are lots of competition for the UPSC civil services.There are mainly two civil services in India which are offered and they are the
    Indian Administrative Services
    Indian Police Services.
    These civil services needs some qualifications which are to be satisfied before appearing to these services and some of them are...........
    >>you need to have attained the age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years
    >>You must have completed the graduation or the bachelor degree in any of the streams of study.
    >>Should be the citizen of India for appearing to these civil services......
    These are the minimum qualifications needs to be performed in order to appear for these services..........



    Steps taken to prepare for the Civil Services like IAS/IPS:
    >>Prepare the previous years papers throuhly and be perfect in your course of study.........
    >>Make your mind to know about the every general topic which are going around you...........
    >>Set the time to prepare such that you need to cover the whole syllabus for the examination.........
    >>Adjust the time for the preparation and the study also nd make every topic clear while you prepare........
    >>Choose the subjects as your optional subjects in which you had much knowledge.
    >>prepare well for the examination such that you has to cover every topic of the syllabus..........

    Choosing the optional subjects in the examination is you need to select the subjects which you ha studied in your Graduation or you can also take up the general subjects which are common and every one can prepare for it,some of the optional subjects present are...

    These are the two subjects which you can prefer even if you are not from these back ground of study as these needs some knowledge you can also take up the optional subject as the

    if you had interest in mathematics..............

    dear only hard work ,hard work and determination will make you to achieve the goal to crack the IAS,and most of the students choose geography as its optional because its a technical and scientific subject ,and better suited to their mentality .
    public administration has a limited and defined syllabus which will enable you to score higher.

    *IAS and IPS are both the professional career options which is having many opportunities and you will have a nice future and these exams comes under the civil services exams

    *These exams are conducted by the UPSC every year and there is tough competition for this exams and you need to practice well for the better score

    First i thankfull to you for interest in joining civil services .

    There are mainly 3 steps

    1) Preliem exam
    2) Main exam
    3) Interview



    When you pass preliem exam you are able to give mains

    If you also pass mains you qualifies to interview
    When you selected in interview , you will get post

    Here you will get previous question papers, study strategy ,rules and much more.
    The eligibility is given below-

    Citizenship- Indian citizenship needed

    Age Limit- 21 to 30 Years.

    Age relaxation-
    5 years for SC/ST candidates
    3 years for OBC candidates
    5 years for defence service personals
    10 years for physically handicapped candidates

    Educational Qualification-a graduate degree holder in any discipline from a recognized institutes.
    or
    must be in the final year of graduation.

    Attempt limit-
    4 attempts for general candidates
    7 attempts for OBC candidates
    there is no attempt limit for SC/ST candidates.


    You will also need to have to satisfy the following physical requirement.

    Height:minimum 165cms for male and minimum 150cms for female
    chest:unexpanded minimum 84cm for males
    unexpanded minimum 79cm for females
    and minimum 5cms expansion
