As you have completed your diploma. You are now eligible for Bachelor of technology. First you have to prepare
for the entrance exam for Lateral entery exam.

Structure and Pattern of Lateral Entry Entrance Test:

Question paper of this entrance test will contain only multiple-choice questions.Each correct answer will carry one mark and there will be negative marking for wrong answers. Therefore, you should attempt each question with utmost care so as to avoid the reduction in marks. Ninety minutes is the maximum time given to finish the test. The areas specified for the test, are given below.

General Engineering
Programming Fundamentals
Physics
Mathematics
Environment Education

Eligibility criteria for lateral entry entrance tast (LEET):

you should have passed Diploma in Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or Equivalent after undergoing regular course of three years study in an approved institution are eligible for admission.

you did not mention that after which class you have done diploma and in which subject you have completed diploma.
if you have done after 12th class with any like engineering branch then you can take direct admission in engineering of second year.
because there is a rule that if you have complete diploma then you can take direct admission in second year of engineering.
but branch will be same. you can not change your branch.

You can chose for higher study, i think it will be better for you..

You can also go for Job.

It is depend upon you what you want to do..For this you have to be think in deep about that think which you are think.
if you go for higher study then you can get a good job after completing that..But if you think for now doing job you can get job but it not sure that you can get a good job for you degree.

You can do various courses after completing your Diploma course such as B.Com,BCA,BBA,Engineering.But I strongly recommend you to choose Engineering after completing your Diploma course.In Diploma you will study all the important subjects of Engineering degree,so when you will go for Engineering degree you will not find any difficulty in doing it.

Eligibility for Engineering courses for Diploma holders:

• You must have completed your Diploma course with minimum 60% marks in Engineering from a recognized State Board of Technical Education.
• You must not have any backlog left in Diploma course.
• Your age must not be more than 28 years.

your question is not cleare as there are many groups in diploma you should specify you group never mind i will provide you some details about career after diploma in common .........

Just can go for doing B.Tech.

After diploma you can apply for the lateral entry admission in different Govt and private colleges.

For the lateral admission to the B.Tech course you have to apply for lateral entry entrance tests..

There are different lateral entrance tests in different states,like JELET in West Bengal.....ect

So find out which college you want to join in the b.tech course and according to that apply for the entrance test..

First you mention from which stream you have done Diploma.
If you have done diploma from electronics or computer than you can apply for B.Tech through lateral entry exams.
Or if you can apply for BCA if from computers.
Because diploma holders candidates do not earn more money.IF you study more than you earn more money.
So for you my opinion is to do more study for your bright future.

After completing ur diploma u should complete your graduation because diploma course is not enough for u gradotion is must for your good future.u can do ba,bca,b.com,bba,b.tech in any stream from recognised colleges and after that u can do your pg courses for masters. You may also do short courses for beter jobs like hardware networking courses and many computer courses which helps u in getting jobs.so in my opinion u should complete these education for a complete educated person and will increase ur personality and knowledge.thankyou.

You didnt mentioned that where are you from..
about ap polytechnics, you need to apply for ECET(engineering common entrance test). Apsche will anounce notification,in the month of january/february..
You get applications in the post offices and banks listed by the ecet convenor. You've to pay 300 rs per application. You have to fill the application and attach the attested copies of original certificates, listed on the back of application form.
After that you have to send the application via speed post or general, to the address of university, that is conducting ECET.
After that you'll get acknowledgement card and halticket on post.
You need to attend the exam in the centre, which you mentioned in the application..
By the results you'll get rand card, and counseling procedure is there,, the type of counseling is web based.. 1st you have to attend for certificate verification ane then for the option entry., the schedule will be given by the board.. After placing the allotment, you need to download allotment order and report to the college with in last date..

generally for diploma candidates a entrance exam is conducted for admitting into b.tech and the candidates can join in 2nd year as lateral entry but not in 3rd year
Some universities conduct the b.tech subject exam after 2nd 1st semester and 2nd semester for diploma candidates, the subjects

2. c/c++

2nd semester :
1. Engineering Mechanics
2. Mathematics II

Diploma is also one of the technical course of study which is done after the 10th or after the 12 th class course of study and these diploma course will be of short term course of study where you can complete the study faster and many of the candidates will be deciding to complete study faster and wish to take up the diploma course and wish to earn faster but most of the jobs will prefer the bachelor degree candidates and the graduates the diploma candidates are also preferred by the candidates and the knowledge plays the vital role in every aspect of every body the candidates who had completed the education in any aspect of branch of study the candidates with good skills and knowledge are only preferred first...

Though immediate earning options are less for the candidates after the diploma course of study there will be more chances if you complete diploma with other bachelors degree also further study.

I think since you have specifically asked that what would be your next step, then let me tell you that go for journal conferences. There quite a lot of people share their new views and innovations they have
from their subject field. Either you can share your view, by writing your own original paper and publishing it their in the conference. Or you can join any workshop in that conference and see what new is going on and learn more about newer technologies and enrich yourself. Such workshops if effective one will help you produce yourself as a better candidate in front of the company you join or any academic
field you join. One such place where you can publish your own papers and also go for workshops is-CSCITA-2014, this will be held in around February or April in 2014. You can mail Mr. T.S.
