    dear INDIAN POLICE SERVICE is mainly concerned to control law and order in the country,,you shouldn't search for scope in this service, if you have guts in you and if you are dare enough to save the law and order by demolishing the crime activities you can join in this course.
    IPS (Indian Police Service) is responsible for public safety and security. The IPS mainly takes care of law and order, which, at the district level, is a responsibility shared with the IAS ; crime prevention and detection ; and traffic control and accident prevention and management. In order to fulfill these functions with greater efficiency, this service is divided into various functional departments, including
    • Crime Branch,
    • Criminal Investigation Department (CID),
    • Home Guards,
    • Traffic Bureau.
    you must have graduate degree in any discipline of any of the universities incorporated by an act of central or state legislature in india or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament.
    you are also eligible if you are in the final stage in your degree.
    age requirement
    your age must be 21 years of age on 1st of august.
    you must have 21-30 years of age to be qualified,
    you have to be clear that you are belong to the india and your the citizen of the india or you may be the part of Nepal,
    Bhutan,
    and a Tibetan refugee.
    if you are a Tibetan refugee than you must be in india before to the 1st January 1962.
    physical requirements
    height
    • if you are a men than you must have 165 cms and you can have 160cms are also eligible.
    • if you are a women than you must have 150 cms and you can have 145cms are also eligible.
    chest
    • if you are a men than you must have 84cms and you can have 79 cms are also eligible.
    • if you are a women than you must have 79 cms and you can have 74cms are also eligible.
    • if you have a squint than you will be disqualified , you have to be be careful in the areas of physical requirements.
    the exam consists of three stages.
    • prelims,
    • mains,
    • and interview stage,
    syllabus
    paper-1
    1. current events of national and international importance,
    2. history of india and Indian national movement,
    3. india and world geography-physical,social,economics.
    paper-2
    1. comprehension,
    2. interpersonal skills including communication skills
    3. logical reasoning and analyticall ability,
    4. decision making and problem solving,
    5. general mental ability,
    6. basic numeracy
    7. english language.
    the above exam consists of 200 marks each you have to write this exam in two hours duration of time.
    part-b
    consists of descriptive type.
    paper-3
    1. english ,
    the main reason for this exam is that you can understand the language clearly,and to understand the prose ,and to express the ideas clearly and correctly.
    paper-4
    1. essay writing,
    paper-5
    1. general studies.
    the above three papers consists of 200 marks each , and you have to write the exam in 3 hours of time.

    Hello frnd,
    The minimum eligibility for IAS is A degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educatsional institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification.
    So, u need to get degree first in order to apply.
