    There will be 2 types of posts for IFS i.e Indian Foreign service and Indian forest service.
    Both posts have their own importance.
    Indian foreign service is the foreign service of India.It is the body of career diplomats of India.
    Indian foreign service is a part of Central civil services of the government of India.The foreign secretary of India is the administrative head of the Indian foreign service.It is one of the biggest job in the country.

    Indian forest service is the another post.These Indian forest services is conducted by UPSC.It is for the protection,conversation and regeneration of forest resources.

    Eligibility for Indian forest service:
    Age limits:
    Your age should in between 21-30 years.Age relaxation are eligible for ST/SC/OBC candidates.

    Educational qualification:
    -Bachelor's degree in any stream with at least one of the subject namely Animal husbandry & veterinary science,Botany,Chemistry,Geology,Mathematics,physi cs,statistics and zoology or a bachelor degree in agriculture or forestry or engineering of a recognized university or equivalence
    -Who are appearing the degree examination are also eligible to apply.


    Examination pattern:

    The exam can be conducted to give the 6 papers.
    paper1:General English
    paper2:General Knowledge
    paper3,4,5,6 any 2 subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects set out below.Each subject will have 2 papers.

    Total marks for written examination is 1400.

    AFtr clearing the written examination part the students have to appear for personal interview which is for 300 marks.

    coming to u it is very good thing to learn about forest services , as India is one of the first countries in the world to have stated scientific management of its forests
    the subject" forestry " was managed by the federal government ,
    the main mandate of the service is implement ion of the national forest policy which envisages scientific management of forests and to exploit them on a sustained basis for timber products, etc
    and they are entrusted with enormous challenges of protection,conservation, regeneration, and development of the forests ............

    IFS stands for Indian Foreign Service and it is the foreign service of India. It consists of career diplomats of India.

    The Indian Foreign Service comes under the Central Civil Services of the Government of India. The Foreign Secretary of India is the administrative head of the Indian Foreign Service.

    • Second Secretary (promotion upon being confirmed in service)

    If you want to become IFS you must complete degree in india and you must be citezine of india the age must be 21 to 30 years can write.
    Career options :
    unlikeother central services IFS can be classified in three different categaries they are :
    1.At an embassy:
    a)third secretary
    b)second secretary
    c)first secretary
    d)counsellor
    e)minister
    f)ambassadar

    2.At an consulate
    a)vice consulate
    b)consulate general

    3.At the ministery of external affaries
    a)under secretary
    b)director
    c)join secretary

    • Should be a citizen of India.

    For Indian foreign service you have to appear for the civil service exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year .The examination is done in two phases preliminary and the main exam,Preliminary exam is common for all students and consist of two papers of 200 marks each and 2 hours duration where as the main examination consist of the written exam and the interview .There are total 9 paper in the main exam of total 2000 marks .The students have to choose two optional subjects for the main exam from the list of 23 optional subjects .

    You must have passed your graduation in any streams
    You should be between 21 to 30 years and there is some relaxation in upper age limit is given to the reserved caste students .

    In Indian foreign service you are part of Central civil services of the government of India.The foreign secretary of India is the administrative head of the Indian foreign service.

    Indian forest service .

    Indian forest service is conducted by UPSC.The examination is done for selecting the candidates for the protection,conversation and regeneration of forest resources.

    Eligibility for Indian forest service:

    You should not be less then 21 years and more then 30 years.There is some relaxation in upper age limit is given to the ST/SC/OBC candidates.
