Public Sector :

In Public sector you can apply for government jobs such as

Private Sector :

The scope of B.Tech. course in ECE is wide but your future will depend on
that which sort of career you are interested in and
how you proceed to make that sort of career.

If you want to stick with this field then the possible career opportunities
after B.Tech. in ECE are:

1. You take up a decent job(any company which you get in starting) and after
some years of experience switch to some better company(if any).
After some more experience if you wish to have a sudden hike then you can go for
1 year executive MBA(through GMAT or other way) but this will take away
technical job from your hands and will give you work of decision making comprising
decision in both technical and management field.

2. If you wish to do some Government job then you can apply for BSNL JTO exam,
Indian Engineering Services examination.

3. If you want to do higher studies the you should take GRE test and apply to foreign
universities for MS in some related field. You can appear for GATE if you are willing to
go for higher studies in home country.

If you are somewhat interested in quitting with the ECE field then you can go for
MBA/CFA/FRM/Civil Services etc. In this case, it would be better if you post your
query with your interest so that most appropriate career option can be suggested.

Hi,
Cources like Electronics and communication,Electrical and Mechanical are very stable and ever green.They will have less impact by recession.That is not the case with computers and IT.They are proportional to market fluctuations.

I am from Computer science but ECE has good opportunities in the future compared to mine.Most government jobs prefer candidates from ECE and EEE.(you occupy majority of seats).As an example, ECE branch is opted by most students in this year's EAMCET.This is a rough indicator.

You have completed B-TECH degree from Electronics and communication.So the better option for you to go for higher study like-

1)M-TECH

2)MBA

4)JRF/SRF

5)PHD

But you must have a valid GATE ,CAT ,MAT ,XAT etc score.

You are also applicable for govt sector also-

1)UPSC- UPSC conduct so many exam like IAS ,IPS ,IES ,IFS ,SCRA ,CDS .All exams educational qualification is graduation where you can applicable.

2)BSNL - BSNL conduct so many exams like BSNL JTO , BSNL TTA , MTNL etc.

3)Indian Railway Department

4)Indian Electricity Board

5)ISRO , DRDO ,BARC ,NTPC,NIC ,SAIL , BHEL ,BEL etc.

6)BANK - BANK PO ,BANK CLERK , IBPS PO ,IBPS CLERK ,SPECIAL IT OFFICER .

There are two options after engineering in ece group they are job or higher studies.

Job after B.tech (ECE):-

For ECE graduates there are good opportunities in many private and government companies.In your final year itself start attending placements which held in many colleges.As you are pursuing bachelors in electronics you can try both core companies and software companies.

Try for job in top companies like :-

Wipro,

Infy,

Accenture,

TechMahindra,

Aricent,

HP,

L&T,

Nokia,

Bsnl,

BEL,

BHEL etc.

Be strong in aptitude and stay confident for your interviews it will definitely fetch you good job.If you don't get job in private companies don't give up. you can try for government jobs by writing exams like IES,civil services,CET etc.

Higher studies about B.tech(ECE):-

MBA: MBA has great value if you do in institute like IIMs. you can write CAT exam for MBA admission.

MS: MS will also fetch you good job opportunities. for which you need to study in top foreign universities. to get MS admission you can try with your GRE score.

M.Tech: It does not have value equivalent to MBA or MS. but still M.Tech is a good course when you do in good institute. you can write GATE exam for M.Tech admission in top institutes like IIT.
