My friend Indian Navy plays a major role in the Indian Defece Sector. The Indian Coast Guard play a vital role in safeguarding our country. If you are highly interested in that then its very good. For joining in the Indian Navy you have two chances in your academic life. First one comes when you complete your 12th. After 12th you can give the NDA exam which is organised by UPSC twice a year in august and november. For this exam you have to be male unmarried candidate of approximate Age between 16.5 to 19 years. Also for the Indian Navy you should have passed or apprearing in 12th science with maths stream with not less than 60% marks in the same. After qualifying this exam you should go for the medical test. So you should be medically fit and strong with correct eye vision, hearing aid, strength, stamina, etc.

Second chance comes for you when you complete your graduation from the science stream only. That exam conducted by UPSC only is called Combined Defence Services Exam (CDSE). For that also you have to be a male unmarried candidate with age above 21 years.
Also the fitness criterias are same as in NDA.

So you can prepare accordingly based on what you are at which level-12th or bsc. Or b.tech.

There are various options available to enter this field. It would all depend on your age and education qualification. Also another important factor will be whether you are a male or a female and whether you are married or unmarried. Like if you are a marine engineer who is unmarried and belongs to the male gender then you can apply through the short service commission. 12th standard pass outs can try through NDA. For this they should have studied Physics and Maths in 12th standard. But there is an age limit of 19 years. Females too can apply through the SSC scheme. They can pursue different job opportunities in executive candre, naval architecture, logistics etc. Official web site will give you detailed information on the same.

Master's Degree with 55% marks in Physics (with Maths in BSc) or Maths (with Physics in BSc). Women candidates having Chemistry with Physics as subsidiary at Degree level are also eligible.

Men: Minimum acceptable height 157 cms with correlated weight.
Women: Minimum acceptable height 152 cms, weight 38.6 kgs. In both cases the correlated weight should not, however, vary from the average by more than 10%.

6/60, 6/60 for I and 6/24, 6/36 for II & III correctable to 6/6 (in each eye with glasses).

To join the Indian Navy you have to appear for the NDA Exams that is conducted by the UPSC Board.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA,
you must be the citizen of india, or Bhutan or Nepal.
you have to be in india before to the 1st January 1962 if you are Tibetan refugee.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy

NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice every year -NDA(I) and NDA (II).
Through NDA exam you can join all the wings of defence - Indian Army,Indian Navy and Indian Airforce.

Eligiblity for NDA exam :-

* Only Unmarried Male candidate can give the exam.
* Candidate should be an Indian.
* Candidate's age should come between 16.5 to 19years.
* Candidates should pass their 10+2 class with Physics,Chemistry and Maths from a
recognized Institution.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service Exam

This exam also conduct by UPSC two times in a year.
Through the CDS exam you can join these wings of defence -- Officers Training Academy,
Indian Army,Indian Navy and Indian Airforce.

Eligiblity for CDS exam :-

* Candidate should be an Indian.
* Candidate's age to join Indian Navy should come between 19 to 22 years.
* Candidate should have bachelor degree with Physics and Chemistry / Engineering Degree by
a recognized university.

To join in defense service,you should have completed minimum 12th class or minimum graduation degree course.To join in Indian Navy you should apply for NDA exam,if you have completed 12th class with PCM stream from a recognized university and your age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.

If you have completed graduation degree in Engineering from a recognized university and your age should be between 19 to 22 years.Then you can join in Indian Navy by appear for CDS exam.

This two exam(NDA & CDS) is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year twice in year to take qualified students into different defense service like
>>Indian Navy
>>Indian Army
>>Indian Air Force

NDA exam notification will release in the month of December and May every year.And exam will held on April and August month every year.
CDS exam notification will release in the month of October and June every year.And exam will held on February and September month every year.

* TES (technical entry scheme )

to apply for NDA examination your age should be 16.5 to 19 years and you should passed 10+2 with physics and maths to

* For naval wing examination.

*you should be unmarried.

>to apply for TES you should passed 10+2 with maths and physics add minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

your age should be 16.5 to 19 years.


After graduation you can also join indian navy through CDS examination conducted by UPSC .

For applying into naval wing examination you should be graduate in any stream and from a recognized institution.

being passed 10+2 with physics and maths.Age should be 19 to 22 years to apply for naval wing examination.
