    What is the required eligibility criteria for NET Exam after completing M.Sc in Nutrition?

    i am doing M.Sc. in nutrition i want to give the NET exam for working i research work, i want to know about the eligibility criteria of it ?

    yes of course you are eligible for the NET exam .for this you have to fulfill the eligibility criteria.


    Eligibility for NET examination:


    a) Education Qualification

    M.Sc. or Equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned in para 2.1 above, with minimum
    - 55% marks for General & OBC candidates;
    - 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. degree holders who had passed Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991.

    b) Age limit and relaxation

    For JRF (NET): Minimum 19 Years and maximum 28 years as on 01-01-2011
    - upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer), Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants

    For LS (NET): Minimum 19 years, as on 01.01.2011. No upper age limit.

    NET Stands for National Eligiblity Test and this examination was Conducted by UGC Twice in a year, the examination was Held in June and December Every year.

    To apply for NET Examination you need to complete your Post Graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognised university, And you must have scored minimum 55% marks in your Post graduation, Final year Post Graduate candidates are also apply for NET Examination.

    Eligible candidates may apply for Lectureship Post and Junior Research Fellowship Programme.

    There is no upper age restrictions to apply for Lectureship post, But for Junior Research fellowship Post your age should not be more than 28 years.

    >> The examination fees of NET was Rs 450 and you have to pay the fees through challan form in SBI and then you are eligible to fill the NET Application form Online.

    The examination was Held in June and December Every year.

    The June NET Examination was already completed and december NET Examination notification was Going to be Published on 26/Sep/2011 and the examination was Going to be held on 24/Dec/2011.

    The examination was Held in 2 stages and there are 3 papers in this examination and all are conducted in same Day in 2 session, First 2 paper was Objective and Last paper was Descriptive and You have to choose the subject in NET Examination as per your Post graduate subjects and form more Information please check the official website -

    dear friend,

    After M.SC(Nutrition) , you are eligible for NET exam but your degree must be from UGC approved university.

    Those candidate have completd masters degree from recogniged university are eligible for NET exam.

    For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

    Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

    For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

    For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.

    NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.

    NET standred for National eligibility test.
    These NET exam will contain 2 phases
    -Junior research fellowship(JRF)
    -Lecture ship
    UGC will conduct the NET in 78 subjects.
    The candidates who qualify for the award of JRF are eligible to purse the research in post graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for lecture ship.

    Eligibility for JRF:
    Age:Not more than 28 years.
    Relaxation up to 5 years.
    For L.L.M degree candidates age relaxation is up to 3 years.
    There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.

    The candidate who have secured at least 55% of marks in Master's Degree or equivalent examination from institutions recognized by UGC humanities and social sciences,computer sciences and applications ,electronic science etc...
    Minimum percentage for ST/SC/PH/VH candidates is 50%.

    NET stands for national eligibility test.

    eligibility criteria:-

    **educational qualification is master degree graduation in any stream from any recognized university.

    **age limit up to 33years.

    **age relaxation will be given to reserved peoples.

    The meaning of NET is "National Eligiblity Test".This exam was conducted by UGC every year.

    -- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masterís Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Masterís degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

    ELIGIBILITY:
    1.Candidates belonging to the General/Other Backward Classes (OBC) who have secured at least 55% marks
    2.Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master's Degree examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test
    3.There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing only for eligibility for lectureship
    4.Applicants for Junior Research Fellowship should not be more than 28 years of age

    NET stands for National Eligibility Test.This exam is conducted by Union Grant Commission every year twice to take qualified students to provide Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship posts in government sector.

    To appear for NET(Junior Research Fellowship),you should have completed post graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university with minimum marks of 55% and your age should not exceed 28 years.

    To appear for NET(Lectureship),you should have completed post graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university with minimum marks of 55% marks.

    If you fulfill with this criteria,then you are eligible to apply for NET exam.
    NET exam notification will release in the month of June and December every year.

    can general caste female who is pass post graduation with 54% is eligible for net examination
