    What are the required educational qualification to appear in IAS exam? How should I start preparation for this exam being a engineering graduate?

    sir pls tel the educational qualification to write the IAS exam.. and how should prepare to write this exam?? i am a engineering degree holder.. so how should i prepare??

    Civil Services Examination

    This exam is conducted every year by UPSC and the scheme of the exam
    is as under;

    The Civil Services Examination is comprised of two stages.

    1. Preliminary Examination
    This is also called Civil Services Aptitude Test and is common test for all applicants.
    This contains questions from General studies(History, Geography, Politics, Economics
    and social development, General Science), English, Mathematical Aptitude etc.

    2. Main Exam and Interview
    Those who qualify Preliminary exam are called for Main exam and
    on the basis of marks in Main exam, candidates are called for
    Interview. The total marks of Main exam and Interviw are sum up to
    produce final result.

    The Main examination comprise of following papers
    1. Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
    2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
    3. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
    4. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
    5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
    6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)

    Eligibility criteria for IAS exam:

    You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
    Age should be between 21 to 30 years for General category candidates,21to 33 year for OBC category candidates,21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

    Number of attempts:

    4 attempts for General category candidates.
    7 attempts for Obc category candidates
    14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates.


    Important dates for IAS-2012 exam:
    Indian Administration Service(Preliminary exam) Notification for this year: Issue of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012.
    Exam will held on 20th May 2012.
    Indian Administration Service (Main Exam) notification for this year:
    Exam will held on 15th Oct 2012.

    -- You must be Indian citizen.

    Yes you can apply for IAS exam as your a Engineering Graduate.

    To apply for IAS you need to complete your Graduation.

    IAS is include in the services which come under civil services.

    Civil service exams are conducted by UPSC.

    This exam is conducted every year to recruite IAS,IPS,IFS officers.

    The exam is conducted in 2 stages such as Preliminary and Mains.

    Your age should not be less than 21 (or) not more than 30 years.

    If you belong to SC/ST then age criteria is 21-35 and for OBC it is 21-33.

    Number of Attempt`s:-

    General candidates have 4 attempts.

    OBC candidates have 7 attempts.

    SC/ST candidates hae no limit.

    To prepare for IAS exam its not so easy so i suggest you go for Coaching.

    So as you have completed your Graduation in Engineering your eligible to apply for IAS exam.

    IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service examination .

    Required Education qualification is graduate degree with any discipline and there is no minimum marks , graduate degree is enough to appear for this examination . Awaiting in the exam results or pass out candidates or final year candidates are eligible to apply for this examination .

    Required Age limits , you should have a not less 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination . Upper age limits is applicable for reserved categories . The reserved categories are SC/ST , OBC , PH , Ex-Servicemen and other reserved categories .

    Minimum number of attempts for IAS examination is four attempts is given to the General candidates , Seven attempts is given to the OBC candidates and No limits for SC/ST candidates .

    To become a IAS Officer , the candidate have to crack the prelims , main and Personal Interview .

    This year prelims notification was already released and it is available in the official website of UPSC . The examination will held in the Last of week of May .

    After clearing the prelims the candidate are called for the Main examination .

    Main examination can be divided into nine papers and there is two optional papers for main examination . After clearing main examination , the candidate are called for the personal interview .

    the IAS exam will be consists of
    • prelims,
    • mains,
    • and finally interview stage ,

    as we know that there is change in the syllabus introduced by the CSAT 2011,
    you have to clear the IAS prelims to claim the mains and than interview session,
    education eligibility,
    you can have graduate in any discipline from a university recognized by the university grants commission (UGC).
    if you are in the final year of your graduation than you can fill the main exam form.
    and you must be the citizen of india.
    age limit
    you must be minimum 21 years of age maximum is 30 years ,
    if you are belong to OBC category than you can have 21 to 33 years of age.
    for sc/st 21 to 35 years .

    The required essential conditions for appearing to IAS ( Indian Administrative Services).

    IAS examination is conducted by UPSC every year ones.
    FOR iAS officer post one must have to qualify the Civil Services Examination .
    UPSC conducts Civil Services Examination.
    Civil Services Examination is conducted in three steps :
    CSAT examination.

    Every year about lakhs of aspirants appear for this exam and about 910 candidates get success.

    The education information for the IAS exam.
    My friend it is not big requirment for this exam.
    Just you have to graduated with 60% min. marks.
    And also physically fit and an indian citizen.
    After this you can fight this exam.
    If you want to prepare this exam in graduation during .
    Then start now .
    Because it is not easy to crack it.
    Just study regular 7 hours.

    Hi aspirant,

    IAS (Indian Administration Service)

    IAS exam is conducted every year by the union public service commission under the civil services examinations for recruiting candidates into collector post in various departments.

    For this position required educational qualifications are you must have completed the graduation from recognized university and there is NO LIMIT bars on PERCENTAGE in GRADUATION.

    Required age limit i,e the minimum age limit should be 21 years and maximum age limit should be 30 years.

    Here age relaxation is also available as per govt rules i,e 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category candidates and 3 years age relaxation for OBC category candidates.

    Available number of attempt's i,e 4 times for general category candidates and 7 times for OBC category candidates and NO LIMIT for SC/ST category candidates.

    Selection Procedure:

    The selection procedure is based on the following stages such as preliminary and main examinations and after qualifying the these 2 examinations you will be called for personal interview.

    Preliminary Exam Pattern:

    Hey friend,

    The Education qualification which is needed for the IAS exam is that the candidate must have completed a Degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage and it can be from any discipline.

    As you have told that you are a Engineering Degree holder you are eligible as per the Education qualification.

    With not only with education qualification you will be eligible for writing the IAS exam you calso need to satisfy the other standards framed for the exam and they are:

    # Nationality

    # Age Limit

    To be detailed about the other 2 criteria's it is that:

    >> You need to have a Citizenship in India as per the Nationality standard framed for the exam
