Not only aeronautical course, but for any engineering course a candidate has to complete his/her 12th with a minimum of 50% marks, and in MPC group.
maths , physics and chemistry are compulsory subjects.
After that go for entrance exams like IIT-JEE, AIEEE etc.
or take admission into any college by management quota.
There are very less seats in Aeronautical engineering you have to really hard work for getting a seat in it.

To be an aeronautical engineer one should have a graduate degree (B.E/B.Tech.) or at least a diploma in Aeronautics. The degree and postgraduate degree courses are offered by the engineering colleges and Institutes of Technology (IITs), and the diploma courses are available at polytechnics.

The basic eligibility criteria for a BE / B.Tech is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and must have a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate. One must also pass the qualifying exam JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) conducted by the IIT's.

Aeronautical Engineering is a branch of Engineering which mainly deals with the Design and Manufacturing or Air Crafts. To get into the Course you have to apply for the National Level Entrance Exams like AIEEE or IIT-JEE. To appear for the exams you have to complete your 10+2 with Maths and Science as your subject from a recognized board.


AIEEE Stands for All India Engineering Entrance Examination and the exam is Conducted by the CBSE Board, New Delhi. The exam will be Conducted both ion Offline and Online Mode . As of 2012 the exam will be conducted on 29th April 2012.

IIT-JEE Stands for Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam The exam is Conducted by all the IIT Zones located in India.

Aerospace engineering is the primary branch of engineering concerned with the design, construction and science of aircraft and spacecraft.

It is divided into two major and overlapping branches:-

Aeronautical engineering and

Astronautical engineering.

The former deals with craft that stay within Earth's atmosphere, and the latter with craft that operate outside it.

If you want to be aeronautical engineer. Then you have to do B.tech in aerinautical engineering. for which you have to clear entrance exams like IITJEE , AIEEE to get the seat in good institutes. The only qualification to take this banch is that you must have pass 12th with first division.
