Graduation is the main qualification which is required to apply for this exam. This is a highly competitive exam in the state. The level of preparation should be high for this exam as it is involves two levels. Candidates should first get prepared to crack the preliminary examination. On clearing the preliminary examination, candidates will be eligible for the main exam. Make a decision on optional subjects to be taken for the main exam. Candidates if interested can go for some coaching program for this exam. A specialized training in attending this exam will be provided. Some of the important books which candidates can refer for studies for this exam are – KPSC Competitive Examination Guide by Spardha Margadarshi, KPSC exam guide by C V Jayanna, GK books by Lakshmikant, English grammar by Wren and Martin, R.P.Sharma etc.
