    DEAR common proficiency test(CPT) is an entry level test for the charted accountancy ,you must pass 10+2 to eligible for this exam,
    • this test consists of accounting,
    • mercantile laws,
    • general economics,
    and quantitative aptitude which carries 200 marks, this test is an objective type test.
    the exam is divided into two sections like
    section-A
    • fundamentals of accounting,:- this carries 60 marks
    • merchant laws :-this carries 40 marks , you have to attempt in two hours
    section-B
    • general economics:-50 marks
    • quantitative aptitude:- 50 marks , you have to attempt this two in two hours.
    you have to get 50% of marks to qualify for the nest round .
    you have to buy the prospectus remitting rs.100 , the applications are available in the prospectus, and you can also download from teh official website of ICAI,
    you have to pay the application forms in
    the branches at which you are going to pay is
    • Mumbai,
    • new Delhi,
    • Chennai,
    • kolkata,
    • Kanpur
    the registration of the tuition fees is rs.3500, if you have to pay 3600 if you will submit downloaded application form.
    if you are belong to the
    • Gujarat,
    • Maharashtra,
    • GOA,
    • and union territories of daman and diu,
    than you have to submit the application to the western india regional council of the institute of charted accountancy of india,ICAI bhawan ,
    COLADA,
    MUMBAI-400005.

    if you are belong to the
    • Andhra pradesh,
    • Kerala,
    • Karnataka,
    • Tamil Nadu,
    • union territories of pondicherry and lakshadweep islands
    than you have to submit the application to the southern india regional council of the institute of charted accountancy of india,ICAI bhawan ,
    Chennai,

    if you are belong to the
    • Assam,
    • meghalaya,
    • nagaland,
    • ORISSA,
    • west Bengal,
    • manipur,
    • tripura,
    • Sikkim,
    • arunachal Pradesh
    • mizoram,
    • Andaman and Nicobar islands
    than than you have to submit the application to the eastern india regional council of the institute of charted accountancy of india,ICAI bhawan ,
    Kolkata,

    if you are belong to the
    • U.P,
    • bihar,
    • madhyapradesh,
    • rajasthan,
    • uttaranchal,
    • chhattisgarh and jharkhand.
    than you have to submit the application to the central india regional council of the institute of charted accountancy of india,ICAI bhawan ,
    Kanpur.

    if you are belong to the
    • Delhi,
    • haryana,
    • himachal Pradesh,
    • JAMMU and Kashmir,
    • Punjab,
    • and union territory of Chandigarh
    than you have to submit the application to the northern india india regional council of the institute of charted accountancy of india,ICAI bhawan ,
    Delhi.

    this examination held twice in a year.
    the date of the exam is on 17th June ,2012.and you have to send the application forms before 25-04-2012. the date of the exam for December not yet received.
    after qualifying this course you will start your course in
    • professional competence course
    • final course,
    this exam is already completed in 16-December 2012 ,
    you have to wait for the next year,

    hi,
    you can take any branch then you can still join in CA courses but MEC group is easy to prepare CA-CPT subsequently.

    ‘Fee Structure‘:
    Cost of CPT Prospectus – 100/-
    CPT Registration Fee – 6000/-
    CPT Exam Fee – 400/-
    Subscription for Student Journal (Optional) – 200/-
    Subscription for Members Journal (Optional) – 400/-
    . TOTAL – 6700/-

    registration process :
    you can take a registration or physically buy a registration form from nearest branch office (chapter office) of the ICAI .

    Fill up the Application form and enclose the same along with the Following list of Enclosures:

    1. Demand Draft towards Registration Fee

    2. Proof of Date of Birth:

    Class 10th Admit Card (or)
    Class 10th Marks Sheet (or)
    Class 10th Pass Certificate indication Date of Birth
    Should be Attested by a Chartered Accountant or Gazetted Officer or Head of the Institute

    3. Attested Copy of 12th Pass or its Equivalent Qualification as recognized by Central Govt.

    4. Proof of Nationality (Only if the Student is Foreigner)

    5. Proof of Special Category Certificate i.e., SC/ST, OBC and Disabled

    Submit the above said List of Enclosures along with Application Form with the Nearest Chapter Office.
