Re: What is the procedure to become IAS officer?Am I eligible for IAS exam after completing 12th?

The procedure to become an IAS officer can be explained as follows:
    1)Preliminary examinations
Firstly you would be required to clear an initial examination. This examination is an objective examination in which questions from a variety
of subjects are asked to check the intelligence and general awareness of the candidates.

    2)Mains examinations-
This is the second step in the whole procedure.A candidate who has cleared the preliminary examination is eligible to apply for this level.
This is a subjective examination. You are required to select subjects according to your preference.usually students select those subjects that they have already studied during graduation.

    3)Personal interview
This is the last step in the procedure and the most critical one.You are required to appear for the interview after clearing the initial two stages.
