(i) Age limits :


21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).


(ii) Educational Qualifications :


Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).

There is no physical fit require for the ias officer . only one thing you did not affected by any diseases .

Eligibility criteria for the I.A.S Exam :

you should finished under graduation in any stream with 60% percentage of marks from recognized university .

your age should be 21 to 30 years and relaxation period is given to
sc/st candidate : 5 years
obc candidate : 3 years

No dude there is no such physical requirement criteria for IAS exam.

You need to complete your Graduation to appear for IAS exam.This is include in the services which come under civil services.Civil service exams are conducted by UPSC.This exam is conducted every year to recruite IAS,IPS,IFS officers.

To appear for this exam`s you need to be a graduate from reconized university.General candidates have 4 attempts.OBC candidates have 7 attempts.SC/ST candidates hae no limit.Notifications will be released in the month of Feburary.Last date of applying is 5th of march 2012.

To join the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) you need to clear the Civil Service Exams which takes place every year in two stages of Prelims and Mains.

Eligibility criteria:>>
1) You should be a graduate from a recognized college in any stream..
2) You should be in the age limit of 21-30 years for the general category,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

For joining there are no particular special tests for physical Requirements for IAS entrance exam like other services.
But aspirant must be expected to be medically fit, without any long term diseases. The physical requirements are barriers for IPS Indian Police services but not that considered in IAS you must be eligible as per the rules under Appendix III of the notification.
Many Physically challenged candidates are also been eligible for this exam under only few services like IAS/ISS etc.,

For IAS you won't be required any Physical Requirements, Yes if your're applying for IPS or IFS then your physical appearance will be checked. The eligibility criteria required of IAS is

Academic Qualification :

* You must be a graduate in any of the streams from a recognized university.

Age limits :

--> You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
--> The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
--> upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
--> upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)

Number of attempts :

The number of attempts can vary based on the Reservation your have i.e
- General candidates: four attempts.
- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
- Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

The physical requirements to become an IAS(Indian administrative services) officer can be mentioned as follows:
