What are the other fields except engineering?

    Respected Sir,
I'm Shushant of class 12. I'm weak in my studies. But I want to make my future bright and I do not know about other fields other than engineering. Can you suggest me some areas and exams which I should try? I'm Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics student.

It is not possible for you to be weak in all the subjects. You will be having a liking in some subject. It is not necessary that it should be from the subjects you are currently pursuing. Like if you are more of a creative person you have options like going in for animation, visual designing, interior designing, jewelery designing etc. If you have a liking towards any of the subjects that you are currently studying then you should check out the options available in that. Like if you are good in Chemistry then you can go in for BSc course in that area. Make sure which ever course you select is of your liking. Only then will you be able to excel in your career.

There are lots of career options after +2 with PCM. It is a good think that you are aware of your strength and weaknesses. As you have chosen science stream, you are in a good position. This will help you to shift your career path to humanities or commerce if you prefer. As you donít want to enter in to the engineering stream, you can choose subjects at B.Sc level, which includes microbiology, computer science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, etc. You can also choose courses like hotel management, fashion designing, animation industrial design, packaging, aircraft maintenance etc. And if you think that science is not the subject stream which you want to continue then it would be ideal for you to explore other opportunities in different streams.

    Hi Dear,
As you think that you are weak in studies ,and currently you are persuing your 12th from subjects i.e PCM. Seen your background which you are continuning with PCM group , I dont't think so ,that you should consider yourself as a weak student . The student who had so much courage to study the PCM like subjects ,can be weak in studies. This is only yours fear not the weakness which you are calling it . So , we can suggest you that instead of choosing engineering many others doors are also open like go for some Professional courses like SAP or do the gradution from Arts or other stream which will help you for appearing for UPSC exam .But , one thing i want to say that in this world no one is weak in anything ,only seeing the way from their point of view is different .So, i can bet you that even you are also among them who have something special from others ,so find in which thing you are best and you feel to go that career .Best of Luck

Re: What are the other fields except engineering?

You have mentioned that you are weak in studies.
Does weak means that you are not getting good marks?
Not getting good marks doen't means that you are weak in studies my friend.
May be you are not the science type of student. And i think you have also recognised the fact
and thus you are not intrested in engineering and are looking on to move to other field.
Look if you are intrested in commerce then you can give CPT for entrance to Charted accountancy course.
It would be a difficult job as you are from a science background , but you can do it.
I have many friends who were from science background but todat they are Charted accountants.
You can also go for a Bsc degree in either of Physics, chemistry or maths. You may be
intrested in one of these subjects may be.
Else you can do Bsc in Biotechnology, IT, Fashion technology, Hotel management, Bioinformatics.
You can also go for a course in Graphic designing, animation, web designing or a degree in
    Architecture or aviation.

Re: What are the other fields except engineering?

You have mentioned that you had Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics, in your higher secondary examination, it clearly states that you are a science
students and expect to make a career in this field only.Apart from engineering there are many courses available that can be opted by science students.

Yes it is true that more and more of science students are opting for engineering but then also there are students that have made a bright career in
non engineering fields.Non engineering field can also lead you to a bright career and you would definitely end up getting a very good job if you worked whole
    heartedly towards your goal.

The various non engineering courses that are nowadays opted by students from science background can be explained as follows:
1)B.Sc in the subject of your choice-
If you have in interest in a particular subject, then you must pursue B.Sc in that particular subject for example-B.Sc in chemistry or B.Sc in physics, etc. This would enable you to
acquire knowledge about the subjects you like the most. Many science students have nowadays starting opting for this course and this the reason that demand for this type of courses has increased
for example more and more colleges of reputed universities for example Delhi university are offering this course.

    2)Honors in your favorite subject-
Honors is a course that is a bit more difficult than the program one.And this is the reason that the students are required to study more
subjects as compared to the program one.

    3)Non science courses-
Nowadays more and more science students are opting for chartered accountancy as this course has demand both among the commerce as well as non commerce students.
So, if you want to go for defence services, chartered accountancy, interior decoration, travel and tourism, etc, then they may prove very bright opportunities for you.
