Re: What are the options for Vocational Courses in IAS exam?

Well dear what actually you want to ask is not clear with me.

However, you want to compete for IAS, so required informations are as follows:-

For becoming an IAS officer candidate have to go through 3 selection procedures, conducted by UPSC (http://upsc.gov.in on all india basis:-

    CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test)
Mains: Successful candidates of CAT are invited for Mains, it consists of 2 process - written test and Inteview.

Educational Qualification: Candidate must be a graduate in any stream, weather science, Arst Commers, Engineering Medical etc. also till there is no such aggregate restriction in graduation. However, according to media sources it is expected that from 2012 there will be aggregate restriction of 50%, but final decision is yet to be taken in this regard.

    Age Requirements:
    • For General candidates age limit is 21 - 30 years
    • For OBC candidates age limit is same 21 - 30 years
    • For SC/ST candidates age limit is relaxable upto to 5 yeras, so it would be 35 years.
    • For PH candidates age limit is relaxable upto 10 years, so it would be 40 years.

Number of attempts allowed to appear for Civil Service Entrance Exam:
    • For General candidates its 4 times.
    • For OBC candidates its 7 times.
    • For SC/ST there is no limit for number of attempts, they can attempt as many times till the age limit.
    • For PH its 10 times.
