Getting admission for BCA course is too easy, but the job availability is too less for only BCA pass out. BCA degree is of no importance today. The best option after BCA is to get admission in MCA course. MCA course can be applied by other people also like B.Sc. Pass out.

Job opportunity in call center for BCA pass out is higher, but in call center 10+2 pass out can also apply for the same post.

There is no way any IT company will going to higher BCA pass out (with no other qualification) .

So if BCA pass out is interested in IT or software field, they may join MCA course in reputed university. MCA degree is equivalent to B.E from computer science from hiring point of view for most of IT companies.

Re: What options are available for a commerce student after BCA? Am I eligible to take up MCA Course?

Well eligibility criteria for MCA is such that any candidate who have graduated in any stream and must have studied Mathematics in +2 also. Wehereas aggregate requirement is different for different Institute, however the minimum requirement is 50% in graduattion.

Being from a commerce graduate I can guess you haven't studied MAthematics in your +2. Dont be confused with business maths, thats a diffrent thing and Mathematics is different one huge difference in both syllabus and difficulty level of subject matter.

So, you are not eligible for MCA.

Therefore, better go for any other course which will suites your need and job requirement. So, I can suggest MBA with specialization in IT or System a much better course then any other course in place of MCA for a better and promissing career opportunity or you can also switch to Marketing as your specilization as it would also suites your requirement in IT market.

    Dear,

You can join MCA after you complete your BCA.
There are different eligibility criterion's for different universities, Generally most of the universities demand minimum 50% of marks in graduation for a general category candidate.
So, I would suggest for eligibility criterion you better log on to the official website of the universities you wish to apply .

Re: What options are available for a commerce student after BCA? Am I eligible to take up MCA Course?

Yes off course you can pursue MCA(Masters of Computer Applications) after completing BCA(Bachelor of Computer Applications), even if you have completed your higher secondary from
    commerce field.
In my opinion, as you have completed your graduation in computer applications, you would be much more comfortable with Masters in this field. The reason behind such a statement is that
as you have already studied the basics, you would have no problem in learning about more complicated things in this field. In this way you can enhance your knowledge and
    can add to your profile.

Many students who come from diverse back grounds or in other words who has pursued their graduation from different backgrounds, sometimes find it difficult to under stand many
of the complicated matters which can be easily understood by a student who is from same back ground.

There is no such eligibility criteria for pursuing MCA. But as far as the colleges are concerned, there may be different requirements for different colleges regarding the percentage
which must be scored by the student in Bachelor to secure a seat in that college for the Masters program. But in some of the universities a separate entrance test may be conducted
and on the basis of score obtained in that entrance test, a candidate may be given admission in any particular college.
So, there can be different rules and regulations regarding admission in different colleges for this course.

MCA is a two year Masters program. The eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have completed his or her graduation from any discipline and percentage requirements are different
for different colleges. Many students who had already opted for Bachelor in this field, pursue this course.
The most important thing is that the candidate must try to acquire as much practical skills as possible. Many good institutions in our country offer this course and can make a candidate
competent to work in professional world. Many multi national companies often recruit people who had completed their MCA from good institutions.

After BCA ,MCA is very good option.
So don't worry you are eligible for MCA.

Re: What options are available for a commerce student after BCA? Am I eligible to take up MCA Course?

    HIeeee

Admission to BCA course is very simple, but to reduce the availability of jobs is only BCA pass out. BCA's degree has no relevance today. MCA after BCA course is to find the best option. BSc courses like MCA can also be applied by other people are out.

BCA pass out job opportunities in the call center is more call center in but one out of 10 +2 pass can apply for the position.

There is no way for any IT company is high BCA pass out (with no other qualification) is.

So if you have an interest in BCA pass out IT or software, they can be distinguished at the University MCA course. MCA degree for most of the IT companies hiring point of view is equivalent to computer science.

    ALL THE BEST
