The students who are pursing the VIII standard are qualified to apply. The students must study in a recognized school. This scholarship exam is held every year. The exam is conducted to find the talented candidates and support them. The application forms are available in the NCERT website. There is a written test as well as interview. The written examination covers two sections. They include both the Mental Ability Test and Scholastic Ability Test. Maximum marks of the test are 100. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. The students need to obtain 40% of marks in the examination. The test covers subjects like Social science, maths, science etc. There are questions to test the mental capacity of the students.

Hiiiiiii...NTSE is a talent exam .you are eliglible only if your school have link up with that organisation.They will conduct the exam in your school.No matter how you studies you are eligible for the exam.
performance of the exam is based on the marks you obtain.It's not very easy to get marks you should perfect with maths,science and current affairs etc.

NCERT stands for National Talent Search Examination.

The purpose of the NCERT is to identify talented students and nurture their talent. Talent refers to the potentiality that manifests itself in a high level of performance in one or more specialized areas . Mostly the areas are related to science and mathematics.It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship.

For the courses in Basic sciences, social sciences and commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D level.

For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to Post Graduation.

The NCERT conducts the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in class VIII only. Once it was conducted for class X too. But now its changed only to class VIII

Scholarships:

On the basis of the examination conducts, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for each group of students appearing for class-VIII examination. The amount of scholarship will be Rs 500 per month

Reservation:

15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged group of students.

Selection:

There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by states/UTs through a written examination. If you qualify Stage I you will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination .

The States/UTs will also conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme along with the Stage-I written examination for NTS.

NTSE stands for National Talent Search Examination which is a prestigious exam that is conducted by NCERT every year in the month of May. NTSE has been conducted from the last 47 years by NCERT and was previously called as National Science Talent Search Scheme(NSTSS).

To appear for the NTSE exam you need to be in the 8th class from a recognized board. You can be of any country. The Whole process of the exam takes one year. The notification about the exam comes in June / July in one year and the final result of the exam will be released in the first week of July the next year.

To apply for the exam you need to pay a minimum amount in the form of Demand Draft along with the Application form. Some states Provide it for free But some states like Maharashtra charge an amount of 120/-. The form needs to be signed by the headmaster/headmistress along with the seal of the school.

It is a two level Scholarship Exam:

Stage 1: Written test Conducted for Screening Qualifying Candidates.
Stage 2: Written test followed by Interviews.

The state level exams are conducted by each states/UT to screen students and recommend the qualifying students to the NCERT National Level test.

If you are Indian Student but studying abroad then the 1st level exam is waived you can directly apply for the second level exam i.e National Level test.

You will be given 15 questions on mental ability, 39 questions on Scholastic Aptitude test.

Selection Process:
