As you have completed your 10+2,you can appear for CPT exam.That is the first step to enter into CA course.
After clearing CPT,you need to give IPCC exam which is followed by final exam.
You also undergo through articled training during the course.

After completing the engineering course, you are eligible to do the charted accountant course. For that you write common proficiency test(cpt) entrance exam. It conducts twice in a year. In ca , three levels are there. They are foundation, intermediate and final. All the best

If you are in first year of engg. then why do you want to change your stream.You already completed your one year,you should not think about CA,because totally different stream,it is related to commerce,accountant.

And you are doing engg. then complete your degree and you will get a goof job,but you don't have any interest in engg. and you want to be a CA then go for it.

As age is no bar to this course.You can go for it whenever you want.
For CA you have to appear for CPT( Common Proficiency Test ) conducted by ICAI.

Eligibility for CA:

1.Candidate can appear for CPT after his/her 12th exam.

2.After CPT candidate can appear for PCC( Professional Competency Course ).

3.After PCC candidate have to appear for GMC(General Management
& Communciation Skills Course).

4.As marks is no criteria for this course,candidate should have 12th pass certificate.

Course duration:
1.Course duration has been set to 3-1/2 yrs.

after CA you can apply for job in any public/private bank.Your earning potential will be 50,000 to 1,00,000 initially.

A qualified Chartered Accountant has the option of joining the Government Service, Public Sector undertakings or taking up a lucrative assignment in the private sector

There are many students who pursue chartered accountancy course, even though they are from non commerce background.The reason is simple and logical. This profession not only
offers you the chance to earn a handsome amount(may be as salary or as payment from the client if you are working as an individual CA) as well as a good reputation in society as well as
the organisation where you are employed.The minimum qualification to pursue this course is to have a higher secondary degree from a recognised board.

The procedure to become a chartered accountant can be explained as follows:-
1)CPT(Common proficiency test)-
This is the initial stage in the whole procedure. This is an objective examination of 200 marks consisting of 100 questions.There are four sections in the exam.These can be listed as follows:
1)Fundamentals of accountancy.
2)Economics
3)Quantitative aptitude
4)Mercantile law.
Each section consists of 50 marks and the candidate is required to obtain at least 100 marks to clear the exam.

2)IPCC(Integrated professional competence course)-
This is the intermediate level of the whole process. This isa subjective examination consisting of 7 papers.Each paper is of 100 marks and the candidate requires 40% of the total marks
(in one particular paper) to qualify the examination.And he or she requires 505 on the whole to qualify the exam.The subjects include-
Financial management
Cost accounting
Audit
Accountancy 1
Accountancy 2, etc

3)CA Final examination-
This is the third and the final exam which is required to be cleared in order to become a chartered accountant.It consists of 2 groups and the students requires to clear
both of the groups in order clear the examination.But before the a students is required to do three years of article ship training under a practicing chartered accountant.
But he or she can appear for the exam even before the article ship training gets completed.He or she can appear after completing 2 years of article ship training and the rest of the training can
be completed after the examination.

Eligibility:

1. you must have passed the Class 10 examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or (an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto )may register for Common Proficiency Test.

2. if you have passed +2 with atleast 60% marks

If your interest in the C.A field then you will wait for complete your Engineering. The following are the eligibility criteria for the C.A.

Eligibility for CA :

C.A is one of the course where there is no upper limit. How ever there is a lower age limit. You need to have completed 12th standard.
No registration on the stream chosen during 12th standard.
If you have complete only 12th standard then you need to apply for the Foundation Course.
In case you have complete your graduation course then you can directly apply for the intermediate course. There is also the final course thereafter.
C.A is a renowned accountancy course in India.
Candidates with excellent analytical skills and numerical ability for exam.

What if you do the M.tech or MB.A or job then its better for you.
