    The minimum qualification to apply for the civil services examinations which lead you to become an IAS officer is that you must have a bachelors degree. The degree could be in any field be it a B.sc degree or BCA or BBM or B.tech or any other professional bachelors degree .

    IAS is conducted by UPSC.

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

    The minimum educational qualification required for the IAS is that you must have done Graduation
    in any stream from any recognized University.

    AGE: Your age must be between 21 to 30 years.

    AGE RELAXATION:

    For SC/ST: 5 years
    For OBC: 3 years

    NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:

    GENERAL CATEGORY: 4 attempts
    OBC: 7 attempts
    SC/ST: No limit.


    You can fill the application form on www.upsconline.nic.in and cost of the application form is Rs 25.

    Minimum required qualification is graduation with having one of the subjects in it from the list given below:
    Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
    Botany, Chemistry, Geology
    Mathematics
    Physics, Statistics
    Zoology
    Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.
    Age in between 21-30 as on July 1st 2012..
    The guidelines are for General Category people..

    There are 3 types of Indian Civil Service exam and this exam is being conducted by UPSC and the post of IAS is one of it.For joining in as a IAS officer you need to write the IAS Exam.

    There are many entrance exam conducted in India and as like them you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria framed for the exam in order to apply for the IAS exam.

    Qualification Needed:

    Nationality:

    Candidate wishing to apply for the IAS Exam must be a citizen of India

    The candidate of General category must have 21-30 years.

    There are upper age relaxation for other category candidates and they are for SC/ST it is 21-35 years.

    IAS is civil service examination.Civil service examination conducted by the UPSC every year.INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE is very high and responsible post.So for this post you have to give an entrance exam which is so tough in itself.Basically this exam completes in the following three stage.

    • Preliminary Exam
    • Mains exam
    • Interview


    After completing above three stages you can work as an IAS officer.For appearing in this examination , you need to complete your graduation first in any stream.There is no restriction on the stream.You can choose any stream in your graduation.You also have remember that the minimum aggregate marks is 50% in graduation for participating in this examination.


    You also have to remember the age limitation.As this exam is requires the age criteria.i.e. for appearing in this exam your age must be lie between 21 years to 30 years.However you can get the relaxation if you belong from the reserved category.

    [LIST][*]For the student of OBC category it is 3 years i.e. 21 years to 33 years.
    [*]For the student of SC/ST/PD category is 5 years i.e. 21 years to 35 years.
    [*]You can also get the 5% relaxation in your aggregate marks.[/LIST]
    There is a fix number of attempt for this exam.
    • If you belong from general category then it is MAX 4 attempt.
    • If you belong from OBC category then it is MAX 7 attempt.

    To become IAS Officer you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination. This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year and you have to complete your Graduate degree course to apply for this examination.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    ~~ Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for CSE
    ~~ You not have to scored any minimum percentage of marks in your Graduation

    Its good that you have planned for your future from right now and want to become an IAS..

    For becoming an IAS,you will have to qualify the exam conducted by UPSC i.e,Union Public Service Commission of India.

    The eligibility for appearing in this exam are:-

    The exam for Indian Administrative Service is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.The Eligibility details of the P.O posts are as follows:
    • Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognized university.

    • Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
    • 5 years for SC/ST Candidates.

    The minimum qualifications required by you to appear in the IAS(INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES) are:-

    >>You must be graduation pass out from any stream.
