But remember this is a common criteria and many high profile companies look for students with 75% of marks.

The aggregate percentage requirement for recruiting eligible candidate in their respective organization differ from some company to other..

Generally MNC's opt for minimum of 70-75% aggregate as must that to with out any backlog..
for example - TCS , Google and etc..

But other then this their are companies in government sector as well as private sector which just ask 60% of aggregate only..
for example - ECIL, BHEL, wipro etc..

So friend considering the percentage as secondary option try concentrating on the required one to crack selection..

company allow studets to sit in the interview on the basis of the average percentage getting in B.tech.mostly they allow first class student(above 60%).
after sitting the interview they see only personality ,knowledge of you.so you should powerful at software level.you should have good knowledge of java,c language,c++.oracle,vb.net etc.if you are powerful in that,no trouble for you and will surely get job in good company like TCS,infosys,wipro etc.

if you want to go in the MNC's then you should have to do the hard work and get good percentage in your b.tech or in the m.tech. you have also must good marks in the 10th and in 12th . these numbers have many importance in the future. the mnc's declare some criteria for the students and students have to full fill these criteria for getting the job.
the first criteria and the main criteria is obviously the marks in the degree. the students must have aggregate minimum 60% in the 10th,12th and in the degree. if you have above 60% no. then it will be very beneficial for you.
you should also have good knowledge of your subject and of the communication skills.
