To become an IAS officer you have to apply for the civil service examination which is conducted by the UPSC.The examination is conducted once a year and any graduates students can apply for the exam.

you should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

:-candidate should be qualified in under graduation in any stream with 60% percentage from recognized university .

:-candidate age should be 21 to 30 years and relaxation relation period is given to the candidates like sc/sc candidate for 5years and obc candidate for 3 years and handicapped and widow candidate for 10 years .

:-general candidates eligible to write the attempt for 4 times and obc and other backward candidates for 7 times and there is no limit of sc/st candidate .

So i think now you got it that you must have to score more than 60% marks in your B.Com General course.
i wish you will easily cover it.

    All the best

Re: What is the minimum percentage required in B.Com General course so that i could give IAS exam in future?

To clear the muddle I would like to first inform you that there is no minimum percentage requirement for applying for IAS or IPS entrance conducted by UPSC holding Civil Services Examination.

Indian Administrative Services (IAS) is the most sought after service by lacs of aspirants.

There are various eligibility criteria that civil services take into consideration so as to enable the candidate to apply for the entrance.
    > The age range of the candidate must be 21-30 years.
    > Their is 3 years age relaxation for OBCs and 5 years for SC/STs
    > A Candidate needs to be a graduate in any discipline.

There are specific number of attempts which a student can take for getting through the entrance which has two exams-Preliminary and Mains.
A general category candidate can have 3 attempts, OBC candidates can have 7 attempts and there is no attempt limit for SC/ST candidates.

So, as you are into B.Com, you can apply for the IAS entrance after completing the graduation or can apply in the final year of B.Com.
