    >IBPS (institute of banking personnel selection) is an organization was set up in 1975 .They do recruitment, training , consultancy and reserach and development in the banking sector.
    They conduct the Common Written Exam (CWE) for the public sector banks mainly 19 public sector banks excluding SBI.
    IBPS conducts CWE exams for clerical post , PO post and Specialist Officers post.
    Next IBPS PO exam is scheduled to be held on 17th June 2012.
    Till Now IBPS has conducted one PO, Clerical and specialist officers exams.
    The next IBPS exam for which notification is expected to come in the month of June or july 2012 is IBPS clerical exams

    Probationary Officers(PO's)
    Clerks and

    Eligibility :

    You should have a degree(Without backlogs),which is recognized by government of India

    Your age must be between 20-30 years for general category
    - For SC/ST it is 5 years relaxation
    - For BC relaxation set as 3 years.
    - For the PH candidates 10 years and ex-service-men 5years.

    IBPS will organize a Common written examination(CWE) comprising Objective and Descriptive papers.

    Objective section carries 225 marks and should be completed in 150 minutes(1 1/2 hrs).

    The 250 questions in this section will include::
    - Verbal/Numeric Reasoning
    - General English
    - Questions related to Banking/Insurance/Investment sector,vomputers and typical quantitative aptitude.

    The Descriptive section (60 minute) will analyze the English writing caliber of You,and it carries 25 marks.

    Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), is a governing board which conducts the common written exam and recruits the young aspirants to banking sector for posts PO's / Management Trainee and Clerk cadre's.

    IBPS score eligibility considered by 19 Public sector banks and call for the interview for the posts they given based on their requirement, once if you qualify in IBPS CWE then you will get a score card which is valid for 1 year.

    The 19 public sector banks participating in CWE are:

    Allahabad Bank
    Indian Overseas Bank

    Oriental Bank of Commerce

    Punjab National Bank

    Age: you must have minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years, there will be an age relaxation for special category's

    SC / ST - 5 years

    Widow - 7 years
    Person completed 5 years in RRB's - 5 years

    Clerk's:

    Education: you must have completed your Matriculation / SSC / SSLC or equivalent or 10+2 from any recognized board in a government recognized stream.

    Age: you must have minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years, there will be an age relaxation for special category's

    BC - 3 years
    Ex-service men - 5 years
    Domiciled in Kashmir - 5 years
    PH - 10 years
    Widow - 7 years
    Person completed 5 years in RRB's - 5 years

    you can apply for IBPS exam through Online only, and you can pay the fee by Offline through challan or Online using debit / credit cards. Online site for IBPS www.ibps.in.

    The examination subjects for PO's cadre are:

    Paper I:

    Mathematics
    Reasoning
    English language
    Computer application
    Quantitative aptitude

    Paper II:

    Descriptive paper on English composition (Essay, Letter writing etc ).

    Clerk Cadre
    : only one paper containing

    IBPS stands for Institute of banking personal selection

    ibps conduct exam for the post of clerk and P.O every year .
    after clearing this exam you will be eligible for applying direct interview in all the banks under IBPS.
    so keep trying for this exam.

    IBPS is Institute for Banking Personnel Selection. IBPS conducts written exam on behalf of 19 public sector banks. As part of this exam, one can apply for clerk/PO positions. Notifications about vacant positions in different banks will be published in IBPS official site. Graduates can apply for PO position. But, for clerk position a 10th class with 60% marks is necessary. Candidates can apply for clerk position after 12th class with 50% marks. IBPS exam will include aptitude based questions. Each bank will specify a cutoff score for different posts. Those candidates who score a suitable cut off can directly apply for bank job positions and attend GD and P.I.

    *CWE is the entrance examination which is conducted by the IBPS twice in a year for the posts like bank PO and CLERK posts
