    Hello Friend,

    CPA- Certified Public Accountant

The accounting profession includes jobs at certified public accounting firms, providing such services as auditing and accounting, tax, personal financial planning, and management consulting for diverse clients, individuals and businesses from the biggest conglomerates to the smallest start-up companies.

To Fulfill The Education Requirement For Licensure You Must Complete:

    >>An accounting program registered by the Department as licensure-qualifying, or

    >>An accounting program that is accredited by an accrediting body accepted by the Department.

    >>Currently the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is accepted,

    or
    >>A program determined by the Department to be equivalent to a registered program, or
15 years of public accounting experience acceptable to the State Board for Public Accountancy.

The two most important goals to focus on in your quest to become a CPA are passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting licensing requirements which have recently seen some big changes that take effect Jan. 1, 2014.

California law gives CPA candidates two options for entering the profession.

The California Board of Accountancy has outlined the following pathways for earning a CPA license:

    *Pathway 1 (Expires Dec. 31, 2013.)

    Requirements:

    >>A bachelorís degree

    >>24 semester units in accounting-related subjects.

    >>24 semester units in business-related subjects (accounting courses beyond the 24 required units may apply toward the business units)

    *Passing the Uniform CPA Exam

    >>Two years of general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license, and
    Passing an ethics course.

*Pathway 2 (After Jan. 1, 2014, this will be the ONLY pathway to licensure in California.)

    >>If you are licensed under this pathway, the majority of other states will recognize your license.

    >>If you think that someday you might want to practice in another state, Pathway 2 may provide you the professional mobility you desire.

    Requirements:

    >>A bachelorís degree

    >>24 semester units in accounting-related subjects.

    >>24 semester units in business-related subjects.

    >>150 semester units (or 225 quarter units) of education.
Passing the Uniform CPA Exam; ē One year of general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license; and Passing an ethics course.

This examination is a computerized examination consisting of four parts:

    >>Auditing & Attestation

    >>Financial Accounting and Reporting

    >>Regulation

    >>Business Environment and Concepts

    Hai,
CPA stands for Certified Public Accountant. This is a legal title for qualified accountants in USA who passed the CPA entrance exam and have completed additional state education, experience requirement for CPA certification.
For Example:If i passed the CPA course under one state and want to do CPA accountancy job in another state it wont work. We need to get the certification of CPA of that particular state only where we are willing to work.
Similarly we should have experience as accountancy for certification of CPA.
CPA is just like auditing which we do it in India.
CPA Job task is to perform testing and verifying a company's financial records.

Simply to say all CPA's are Accountants but all Accountants are not CPA's.CPA's are distinguished based on their state, education qualification, licencing requirement, experience and exam.
