    hi,
If you want to become Aeronautical engineer you have to pass 12th with minimum 50%.
For admissions in I.I.T minimum 60%.
For admissions in top college you have to qualify the exam like AIEEE,IIT-JEE etc.

Some top college for aeronautical engineering:-
Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (IIAE)
Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai
    Madras Institute of Technology
    Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai
    Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
    Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology

    GOOD LUCK!

    Hi

AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING is the branch of engineering which deals with the Aeronautic studies, Space Science and Research. Its one of the most uncertain branches when you judge in terms of its scope in India..

Still if you want to pursue it, The Eligibility Criteria's for AE are :

    1. A candidate should score more than 60% aggregate in 12th boards from a recognized school or board.

    2. If wanting admission in some good colleges, then the entrance exams like IIT, AIEEE DCE, needs to be cracked.

    3. They should have studied Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as compulsory subjects.

So if you want to become an AE, then Please score as high as you can in your 12th boards. Though the lowest required is only 60%.

Also try to crack any of the entrance exams for a good college.

    Hope this helps

    All the best.

Re: What marks are required in 12th standard to take Aeronautical engineering course?

Aeronautical Engineering is one of the most preferable courses by Maths students.
It is one of the challenging branch of Engineering.
It is a 4 years full time professional degree course.

To take up this course a student has to meet the qualification requirement:

*12th Class (10+2)/Intermediate With Aggregate of 50% marks in Physics/Maths/Chemistry(PCM)Separately.

*Or Student must complete his diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical engineering.

APrt from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), there are various other colleges offering this course:

eg, Academy of Aerospace & Aviation, Indore
Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Dehradun
Nehru College of Aeronautical and Applied Sciences, Coimbatore

    All the best!!!

Re: What marks are required in 12th standard to take Aeronautical engineering course?

Well student who have scored more than 60% in 12th are eligible for pursuing Engineering in any colleges in India.

However the top colleges like IITs conduct entrance exam for Engineering coarse called JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) and other top colleges conduct AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam)

Both JEE and AIEEE are conducted all over India, hence there will be heavy competition.

You can even join any coaching classes for these entrance exam.

The following are the top colleges in India offering Aeronautical Engineering

+ IIT (Indian Institute of Technology)

    +NIT (National Institute of Technology)

+IIAE (Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering)

    +Anna University -Chennai

    +MIT (Madras Institute of Technology)

+HIET (Hindustan Institute of Engineering and Technologu)

    ..... All the best ......

    Hi,
the minimum percentage required is 50%..after passing PU ..in science stream with that percentage...you need to take up any of the Engineering entrance exams like:
    >AIEEE
    >IIT-JEE
once your ranking is announced..you can opt Aeronautical as your branch in any of the..best engineering college.
    All the best

Re: What marks are required in 12th standard to take Aeronautical engineering course?

    Hi,
Well this thing is a bit relative. Some colleges allow only 75% or more, like that in IITs of different states. Some colleges allow an aggregate marks and a PCM combination marks of around 60% or more. Some allow 50% for aggregate only, whereas 65-70% of the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics marks. Some colleges even allow 40% or more. Nowadays, mostly colleges do not depend on the joint score. In fact some colleges only consider the higher secondary aggregate marks. So that you are very very lucky. You can only concentrate on your higher secondary marks and improve on it hugely to get it to the top merit list of different engineering colleges to get admitted in aeronautical or ECE or EEE or any other courses.
So make your aim for the IITs and that way you will work so hard that you will be able to crack it into any top college including IIT or BESU or B.P.poddar or JBIMS. So All the Best to you.
