Education Qualification

M.Sc. or Equivalent degree , with minimum 55% marks for General & OBC candidates;
50% for SC/ST candidates,
Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and
Ph.D. degree holders who had passed Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991.

NET examinaiton is conducted by the UGC.The examination is done in the month of June and December.If you have completed your master degree then you are eligible to appear for the exam.The net notification for the December month is not yet released so just wait for few more month it might be declared in the September .

Eligibility :

Interested candidates must have completed their master degree with 55% marks from the recognized college.
You should have got your master degree in any of these subjects Humanities and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science.

Prefinal year students are also eligible to apply for the exam.

You can only apply if you are under 28 years A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH categories and to women applicants. If you are taking a exam for the lectureship then there is no upper age limit which means that you can take exams at any stage but there might be some limit in the college you may apply .

Examination Pattern While filling the application form the students have to choose the optional subjects in which they have done their master degree .There will be total three papers in the examination

Paper-I ::It is done to test the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. The question asked are consist of

General awareness.
Reasoning ability
Comprehension

Paper II and PAPER III is of objective and descriptive types on the subjects which the students have chosen respectively .

Procedure to apply for the exam ::

The application form is of Rs450/- for General Candidates .For OBC Rs.225/- and for the SC / ST / PH / VH candidates Rs.110/-

The dates for the next exam are yet to be announced. As of now the results for the June exam have been declared. The next exam is normally held on the last Sunday of December. The notification for the same should be released in the month of September. There will be time frame of one month to submit the application. You will have the option to apply the same online and also by purchasing the form from the designated bank. For the online application you must keep the challan of payment made in the bank and also the scanned copy of your signature and photograph ready. You must check the newspaper regularly for the same. Also information regarding the same will be updated in the UGC site.

NET stands for National Eligiblity Test and this examination was conducted by UGC Twice in a year.

There is no Restriction of age for Lectureship in NET Examination, But for Junior Research Fellowship Your age should not be more than 28 years.

There is no upper age limit for Lectureship in NET Examination.But for JRF(Junior Research Fellowship),your age should be 28 yrs of age at the time of appearing and five year relaxation is given for other candidates.
