    What kind of books I need to get prepared for UPSC Examination? What optional subject should I select in Mains exam?

    I prepare for upsc exam.What kind of books i read? & What is the optional subject which i select in main exam?
    Kindly Help Me

    upsc asks questions having standard of graduation honours level,so you need to study books of that level.
    for mains exam you need to select two optional subjects,public administration,sociology,geography,sociology,psych ology
    are some of the subjects quite popular among students.but your choice should be based on your interest and background
    of subject.

    for preparation of UPSC you should be do study of national level writer book such as NCERT syllabus books....

    you have toread the daily news paper (the hindu) and magzine frontline regularly for completing of your gs exam preparetion
    and than you have to study the analytical reasoning verbal and non verbal reasoning by Arun Sharma for aptitude test.

    for selecting the two subjects it will depend upon you in which you have intrest you take only those form the below list-

    Any two branches of engineering
    Animal Husbandry & Veterimary Science and Mediacal Science
