Eligibility:
Men with 10+2/ Intermediate, graduates and engineering graduates as officers
Physical Requirements -

Height and Wieght - Minimum height Male - 157 cms, Female - 152 cms
Age limits-19 to 25 years.

Eye Sight - The minimum acceptable standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 and should not be colour/night blind.

To be passed fit, a candidate must be is good physical and mental health and freedom any disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duty.

Physical Eligibility Criteria :

Some standards set by NDA are listed below:

Western Himalayan applicants should have a standard height of 166cms, weight 48kgs and chest 77cms while Eastern Himalayan candidates should have a height of 160cms; the criteria for the rest are similar to those for Western region people.

For aspirants from Eastern and Western Plain region height, weight and chest of 170cms, 50kgs and 77cms respectively is necessary.

Southern region applicants must possess the following measurements - height 165cms, weight 50kgs and chest 77cms.

Central region youths, willing to join the Indian Army, are required to have a height of 168 cms, weight of 50kgs and chest size of 77cms.

There is relaxation on height standards for Ladakhis, Gorkhas, Tribals and people from Andaman Nicobar Island of up to 5 to 7 cms.

National defence academy is conducted by union public service commission twice in a year to recruits the candidates in Army, Navy & Air Force wings of National Defence Academy.

If you have completed 12th standard then you are applicable for Indian Army (NDA) exam .

The candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.There is no age relaxation for Sc/ST candidate . Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service . UPSC Conduct CDS Examination for twice in a year .

If you have completed graduation degree then you are applicable for CDS exam.Because the minimum Qualification is required for CDS exam is Graduate .

You must be completed degree of Recognized university with minimum percentage criteria then you are applicable for Indian Army .

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years

Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years

It is good to know that you want to join Indian Army.

You can do that after 12th or after Graduation.

After 12th there is NDA exam.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy.

You can take the exam after doing 12th.

Age limit for so is 16.5-19 years.

You can also Join Indian Army after Graduation.

For that you will have to give the CDS exam.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Services.

The age limit for so is 19-24 years.

Both NDA and CDS are conducted by UPSC.

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission.
