As a third year student there are not many exams you can appear for. For most entrance exams it is a must for the candidate to have completed his graduation at the time of the admission. So you can appear for the exam when you are in your final year. You can try for Merchant Navy entrance exam based on your 12th standard marks. But it is more advisable for you to prepare for the exam. You have sufficient time to prepare. But you need to first select the entrance exam you would like to appear for. This has to be decided based on the career of your choice. If you would like to go for M.Tech then you must prepare for GATE. Another option is civil service for which you need to appear for UPSC exam. You also have the option to appear for various MBA entrance exam.

There are lot of exams a student from B.Tech can appear in the final year. There are many government and private companies which carry out recruitment exams for eligible candidate. You can also appear in the different Bank exams if you like to enter in to that sector. Another excellent option for B.Tech students is to prepare for the civil service exam. This will give you a chance to enter in to the IAS. UPSC also carries out different exam as for recruiting candidates to different posts in the central government departments. If you are thinking to go for higher studies then you will have to prepare for the GATE exam. But for now you will have to concentrate more in your studies.

While pursuing B.Tech in IT, you have many options and fields which you can enter after your graduation. You can enter the field of management, i.e., MBA or PGDM, by appearing for exams such as CAT (common admission test), XAT, FMS, SNAP, MAT, IRMA, etc.. You can pursue your studies in the same field of your interest, i.e., M.Tech in IT field. For this, you will have to first appear for GATE and then take admission in some good college like IIT or NIT. You can also enter the field of civil services by giving exams such as IES or IAS under UPSC exams. While studyimg in your 3rd year itself, you can join any good diploma course related to technological solutions, be it hardware or software field. You can also appear for GRE, IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to a foreign university or US or UK for MBA or any other P.G. degree.

You have to compleate your BE course to become eligible for giving any exams.
However you can appear for these exams in your final year of BE.
You can give entrance for various PSU'S like BHEL,NTPC,ONGC,BPCL,BSNL,DRDO,IPCL, etc.
If you want to go for MBA you can give give various entrance like CAT,MAT,SNAP,XAT etc.

In third year truelly speaking you can not go for any entrance exam....For all the exams you should me in final year

There is no such exams which you can apply based on your current educational qualification.But you apply for Merchant Navy based on your 10+2 results.Also you can go for bank clerical exams.But at this moment I would suggest you to focus on your studies and complete your graduation first.This will open many career opportunities for you.You can go for M.tech courses by appearing GATE.You can also pursue MBA by appearing CAT/MAT/XAT.You can also apply to IAS UPSC exams.There is option for Bank PO exams also for you after you completing your graduation.You can even apply to CET/AFCAT conducted by Indian Airforce after you graduation.All the best

The one and only entrance you can apply for is GATE.

GATE is conducted by IITs and IISC, Banglore combindly for providing admission into M.Tech, MS and Integrated M.Tech - PhD. GATE is one of India's most reputed and tough entrance. B.Tech/B.E. 3rd year students ar eligible to appear for GATE entrance provisionally. This is because GATE score are valid for 2 years, so a 3rd year student appearing and successfully passing it can get into M.Tech with out appearing for entrance again.

For example- If you are appearing for GATE in 2011 being in 3rd year, you can get into M.Tech in 2013 without appearing for it again if successfully able to score well.

Apart from IITs, IISC, NITs and Deemed Universities like- BITS number of other government and private Institutes accept GATE as valid for conducting admission into M.Tech.
Similarly, GATE also helps in getting recruited by some of India's best Companies, basically PSU's and Navratnas.

A third year student can appear GRE exam , toffel exam
you can also aply for some Government job as appearing Candidate.
If you want to go for M.Tech courses then you can appear for GATE exam .

There are many exam for you but after completing graduation.First complete your four year full time course in b.tech and then you can apply for GATE exam,if you get success in this exam then you will get a good college for masters degree of m.tech or you can apply for mba.You can also apply for IAS exam which is conducted by UPSC.

with our own preparation can't we appear for CAT or civils exam to score wel?

A b.tech 3rd year student can attend only one exam and the exam is GATE(Graduate Apptitude Test in Engineering).

GATE exam is to get M.tech admission in IIT'S & NIT'S.

gate score is also valid for 2years.

they can try for govt. jobs or they can for some competitive exams like gate, civil service exams etc.
you can try in different institutes for preparing for mba in exams like CAT,MAT,XAT.

if you have to give any kind of exam you should have a degree.
but as a third year student you can give bank post exam.

For appearing in examination first complete your graduation than you can apply for many jobs in govt. And pvt. Sectors.
You can apply for following jobs after you completion if B.Tech.

CDS exams
railway jobs
bankjobs
MBA entrance examination
M.Tect entrance examination.
But now only for naval academy or air force jobs.
Bank clerk jobs.
So first complete your study and than think for other things .
When you successfully complete your Btec with good percentage than you javelin already many job opportunity.
