    for appling engineering services examination there is no eligibilty percentage if you passed your btech you can attend for that exam provided you must have21 yeas of age

    The minimum requirement for appearing in IES exams is

    1. a candidate must be a engineering graduate from any recognized college in electrical ,ece,aei instrumentation,eee .

    2.must be aged between 21-30 years of age

    3. candidates must be physically fit.

    4. must be a citizen of India

    If you are Interested to apply for IES Examination then you need to complete your Graduation degree course in engineering. The examination was Conducted by UPSC Every year and for this year IES Examination was Already completed, So If you are Interested in IES Examination then please apply for the Next year examination.

    >> To apply for IES Examination you need to complete your Graduation degree course in Engineering and your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates .

    >> So, If you have completed your Engineering degree course in any discipline form a recognised university then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination Next year in 2012. The Schedule and Dates for Next year IES Examination was Already Updated, So please check the Official UPSC website for complete Information.

    >> IES Examination 2012 Dates -

    >> Date of Notification - 25/Feb/2012

    Indian Engineering Services is organised by Union public service commission every year
    to select and recruit engineers for technical services of the Giverment of India. These
    services are available in various sectors like Railways, Public works, Telecommunication
    services and Power distribution sector. The examination is conducted for recruiting candidates
    for Group A and Gruop B services and posts. These services and posts are for four categories:-

    1)CATEGORY I which is for Civil Engineering
    2)CATEGORY II which is for Mechanical Engineering
    3)CATEGORY III which is for Electrical Engineering
    4)CATEGORY IV which is for Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

    The eligibility for appearing in this exam is a Bachelors degree in engineering from
    a recognised institute.There is no limitation of percentage to be eligible.Also you must
    have attained a minimum age of 21 years as the age limit for writing this exam is 21 to
    30 years.The exam consists of a mix of objective and subjective papers. There is also
    a section for General studies and English .

    The IES (Indian Engineering Service) has 4 groups where the students are eligible they are as follows
    1.EEE
    2.ECE
    3.CIVIL
    4.MECHANICAL
    So if you are from any of the above 4 groups then you can get into for IES the eligibility is as follows
    ELIGIBILITY TO GET INTO THE IES
    1.You must have 21 years
    2.Must have completed graduation in the above fields mentioned.

    These are the above requirements to get into the IES
    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!

    There are no marks percentage required for B.TECH for IES exam.

    IES exam is conducted by UPSC in onece time in year.

    If you have completed engineering dicipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam
    1.Civil Engineering
    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

    The Notification was published in the month of January or February in Official website or employment news papers.

    Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

    If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departmenta as exam.

    ->IES is an Exam which is conducted by UPSC and it stands for ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAM.This exam is conducted once in a year.

    ->The Minimum educational qualification required for the IES exam is Graduation in engineering and there is no minimum percentage of Marks required.

    ->The Application form can be filled online and Offline.

    FOR ONLINE APPLICATION FORMS:Just go to the website www.upsconline.com and fill the full application form there.

    FOR OFFLINE APPLICATION FORM: You can get the Application form from the Designated post offices of the country.It will cost you around Rs 50.It is free for Reserved category candidates and Women Applicants.

    IMPORTANT DATES:
    • DATE OF NOTIFICATION :->25.02.2012 .
    • LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS :-> 26.03.2012

    # NO need of Maintaining any min.percent in your B.tech in order to get into IES but, you have to know the following things in to mind:::

    Part 1 is the WRITTEN EXAM....
    Part 1 contains;
    Section1: Objective exam

    # General Ability Test

    Every question is of 4marks.
    Every Paper is for 200 Marks.
    Exam Duration is 2hrs.
    Negative Marking is for every 1/3 question...

    Duration is 3hrs.
    Two papers is of 400marks

    # Paper-1 will be containing 7quesitons.You Have to write any 5 of them.
    Every question will be for 40marks And the total paper is for 200marks(5questions*40marks=200marks)
    In Paper-2, You MUST write the FIRST QUESTION.This question will contain 80marks.
    And this First question contains 10SUB qustions.
    And remaining will be for 120 marks and contains Two Sections.

    * Section-A contains 3 Questions.You have to write any two.Every question is for 30marks.
    * Section-B also contains 3Questions.You have to write any two.Each question is for 30marks.

    # There is no Negative Marking for This Descriptive Exam .


    Part-2:::::

    If you have qualified in Written Exam then, they conduct Personality Test for you.It will be of 200marks.

    - Interview may be conducted Technically or Non-Technically.
    - If you did M.tech, then they will ask you more on your Specialization.

    Question Papers Range::::

    * Subject Objective Papers contain 120Mins(2hrs Duration) to identify 120questions.
    * No calculators are allowed.
    * Questions will not be SO PROBLEMATIC.
    * They will ask you more on BASICS and their APPLICATIONS.
    * So,you should have more grip over them.

    The Previous year questions morely concentrated on the following:

    Basics: 40% questions
    Applications: 40% questions
    Formulas and Graphs: 15% questions
    Assertion and Reasoning: 5% questions

    Application Forms Details:::::
    * You can get application from your nearest Post office. Or you can apply through ONLINE.
    * You have to mention 'Engineering' Option in the Application BUT NOT the "I.E.S" Option. I.E.S refers to Indian Economic Service in the application form.

    Eligibilty::::

    * If you have any engineering from above 4 branches or
    - M.Sc(Electonics/Wireless Communication/Radio Physics/Radio Engineering)

    There are no limit of percentage required in the B.Tech course to appear in the IES examination. Only pass the B.Tech course is enough to appear in the IES examination. So don't worry for the percentage of marks.

    Eligible branch of Engineering for the IES examination.
    • Electronics & Communication Engineering.
    • Electrical Engineering.
    • Civil Engineering.
    • Mechanical Engineering.

    NOTE : The computer science and information technology branch are not eligible for the IES examination.

    Age Limit : The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination.

    IES examination is conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment of candidates to various engineering services.

    Educational qualification :

    Must have Bachelor degree in Engineering minimum passed with 60 % in following branch of engineering :
    Civil
    Mechanical
    Electrical
    Electronics and Telecommedication Engineering.

    Age limit : 21 years to 30 years.

    Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.
